Mit Journalismus hat das rein gar nichts mehr zu tun.

The Handelsblatt reports that the Bundeswehr is looking to build a constellation of at least 1,000 to 1,200 reconnaissance and communications satellites, making it one of the biggest megaconstellations in existence. Currently dependent on the US for space based reconnaissance and communications, the German military is drawing lessons from frequent US attempts to leverage and weaponise dependencies on American capabilities and technology. All satellites will be built by European companies and launched by European launch providers, strengthening independent European access to space. It is likely that these capabilities will be also made available to European allies. The Bundeswehr plans to spend at least 30 billion euros on space based infrastructure by 2030.
