If you click the "secure your account" link in the email, that should allow you to reset your password and restore the original email.
Once you log on, immediately go to "Settings and Privacy" -> "Security and account access" -> "Apps and sessions" -> "Sessions", and click "Log out of all other sessions". That will ensure that the scammer no longer has access to the account.
