If we’re going to have a conservative civil war, the dividing line should be those who believe in protecting and preserving marriage, the family, and unborn life vs those indifferent or opposed. How stupid. This is the lowest form of populyst brittle self righteous commentary. My friends in the military are very much in favor of this Iran venture, and were before. So? It’s still a bad idea. Also Bill Kristol’s son eg was a Marines infantry officer and I think saw action in Afghanistan and similarly Irving Kristol was infantryman in WW2. Did Theo Von? Why is this a measure of whether a policy is good or bad?
All these arguments as also the ones about “dual citizenship” are going to be characteristic of the exhausted and loud-booming moralism to which the right will shrivel after Trump. Already there’s a similar attitude fueling hostility toward European right friends.
