@JohnJan15063009 @ImprecatoryOne In the spiritual realm, yes. Spiritual grace doesn't absolve someone of their earthly consequences, the latter idea stemming from boomer inspired hippy-christian 20th century garbage theology. And it's perfectly OK as a Christian to not want to marry a recovering heroin addict.

@hillbillythings Are we talking about in the earthly realm or the spiritual realm? You cannot conflate the two. And protestants do not believe that all sin is equal in the earthly realm.

All sins are not equal. There are worse sins than others. Protestants will never grasp this until they come to the fullness of truth.

Jesus washes away past sins, yes Jesus does not absolve earthly consequences Forgiveness is not a pardon Christianity isn't a gateway to do what you want and get off the hook And it's not your job as a Christian to save someone from the consequences of their past actions

@mhp_guy “The customer is always right” I’ve personally been a part of and watched a $200 mill organization burn itself to the ground because of this poisonous philosophy The customer rarely knows what’s best for them, And they certainly don’t know (or care) what’s best for you.

@gmhales I went to a catholic school. They explained it as: There will always be people in your circles who are better, more talented, and smarter than you. You can’t control that. It’s about rewarding the one thing that is mostly in your control: showing up — on time & put together.

@RedBarSystems @creation247 It seems, to me, that consistency is king. Take my opinion for what it’s worth, as I don’t profit from social media. But, it seems like those who just “act themselves” have a schtick, which they adhere to. I doubt anyone builds a following through stream of consciousness alone.

Virginity should not be the #1 factor Christians look for when considering who to marry. Godliness and being attracted to them is. Virginity matters, and it's a blessing from God. It's not wrong to desire someone who is a virgin. And past sexual sin regularly carries present-day consequences. But I fear we've placed virginity on such a high pedestal that it's become an idol for many. The Bible doesn't say that someone "is free to be married to anyone [they want] — only if they're a virgin." It says that someone "is free to be married to anyone [they want] — only in the Lord (aka, only if they're a Christian)" (1 Cor. 7:39). In other words, what matters above all else is that your spouse is a believer, virgin or not. Again, while desiring to marry a virgin isn't a bad thing, it becomes a bad thing if it causes you to miss out on marrying the person who truly matters: the man or woman who's born-again, passionate about Jesus, excellent in the God-given characteristics of a godly wife or husband, and physically attractive to you. And a mature Christian should desire those things in a potential spouse above all else, regardless of the past sins the person may have gone through (though they should certainly weigh out that aspect as well in this decision, since it does matter).

@Truth_matters20 Nobody is offended by the Testimony, Danny. We’re offended by: A. Selling his wife’s dignity for social media clout. B. Pushing this as a model Christian marriage. If you want to marry a whore, fine. But don’t act like all Christian men should approve and seek the same.

If you claim to be Christian and are offended by this testimony, you are clearly offended by the gospel as well, because guess what? Jesus came to save sinners just like this. God gets glory from people sharing with the world how much He has forgiven them.

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

@realmaxkirk @TrevorSheatz Pathetic that you think the problem is that he aired her dirty laundry, when the real problem is that he is telling young men to marry sluts. You people literally cannot approach a problem except from a feminist angle. Everything revolves around the woman's interest.

If someone argues that a former promiscuous woman is "damaged goods" and questions whether a Christian young man should marry her, remember Rahab. She was a Canaanite prostitute but became a mother in the lineage of Jesus. God redeemed her, cleansed her, and Salmon married her.

Honestly? Born-again ex-sluts are the best wives. You get a woman with a lot of sexual experience (imagine the sex omg😳), but she's also wise now after repentance (can teach you a lot). So you get a virtuous wifey who makes your peepee go "Wowie!!!🤯" I envy this lucky bastard.

"Not all secret things need to be made public." "You're throwing your wife under the bus." "You still have time to delete this!" Firstly, this story has been public for years when my wife was the first one who decided to discuss this publicly. She delights in sharing her testimony with others. Secondly, I agree that not all secret things need to be made public. There is honor and wisdom in concealing certain matters (Prov. 11:13; 17:9). This is precisely why I chose not to go into details surrounding past sin and kept it brief. I quite literally just shared five words about her life before Christ in this post. Third, in the Scriptures, we see countless personal sins revealed. God didn't have to have David's adultery exposed; he didn't have to have Peter's betrayal revealed; he didn't have to have Samson's lust written down permanently. He could've just chosen not to include these things in the Bible at all. Why would God do this when secret things should remain hidden, and when this only gives unbelievers ammo to fire at these godly individuals? Because, lastly, we're all sinners who fall short of God's commands and need hope, and these transparent revealings of shortcomings bring that hope and show that "there is none good but God" (Mark 10:18). Christianity isn't for those who are perfect. It's for the broken, the lost, the sinful. No one is too far from God's grace that they can't be saved, and hearing these real stories brings the hope of the gospel to people who think, like I used to, that they've sinned too much to possibly go to Heaven. But the marvel of the gospel is that you don't have to live a perfect life; Jesus already did (Heb. 4:15). You don't have to pay the penalty for your sins by suffering forever in Hell; Jesus already bore God's wrath on the cross in the place of all those who would trust in him (2 Cor. 5:21). He rose from the grace and defeated death so that anyone who repents and believes upon him will have their sinful past forgiven (Acts 20:21), be given the Holy Spirit and a new nature, and be saved from Hell and granted eternity in Heaven with God (John 3:16). And I am so grateful this practical story can reach the far corners of the internet where even though many may mock, it will resonate with some who are convicted of their secret sins, which God will one day reveal anyways (Luke 8:17). I pray it leads some to fall flat on their face to Jesus today in repentance and faith. He is such a loving, forgiving, gracious King and Savior. He's the only way to Heaven. Run to him today, and you can experience the same forgiveness, love, and transformation that my wife, myself, and all born-again Christians have undergone. 🙏🏻
