@procastx Siri can add songs to your playlist just by stating the name of the song and playlist.

A few hours with the new Siri, and it already feels like a different assistant. The contextual awareness and multi-step handling feel like a genuine step up — it actually follows the flow of what you’re doing across apps instead of resetting every time. Still early days and I’m just scratching the surface, but first impressions are strong. For those who’ve got access — what’s been the most useful (or surprising) thing you’ve tried so far? Still waiting on the list? Hang in there. 👇 Drop your experiences, questions, or what you’re most hoping to test

Does Apple usually drop hints about the next macOS name? The #WWDC26 trailer music is 'Redwood Tree' by Jamie Drake. Coincidence?👀

@homerdev @mweinbach But I think the Gemini deal was just put in place to buy time while Apple figures out their own in-house models, no?

@mweinbach I get that, but when Apple came out with Apple Intelligence it was expected to be their in-house models. Clearly they failed in building that but if they continue branding their stuff as that because it sounds innovative, then sure let’s call it that. We see it for what it is.

Just because the fundamental IP is based on Gemini models does not mean it's the same Gemini you use today. As they said, Gemini technology will power future Apple Foundational Models. Apple cameras are designed with Apple, made by Sony, but very different than any other Sony camera Apple displays are designed with Apple, made by LG and Samsung, but very different than other LG/Samsung displays (pixel layout, color accuracy, HDR capability, etc) Apple's glass is designed by Apple, made by Corning and very different from other Corning glass (ceramic coating, anti reflective coating, material blend) Many examples of this.
Homer@homerdev

@mweinbach how do you think it works out with Apple Intelligence when it’s going to be mostly Gemini Inside?

The issue with Google is they still haven’t figured out how to roll things out or provide updates on rollouts on certain features. Half of what was announced today is not going to be available universally and it’s getting real confusing.

BREAKING: Democrats are now set to lose ALL of their U.S. House seats in Alabama now that Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has called a special session on redistricting. Democrats can't be allowed to rig our elections any longer.

@wishicaredlol @absolute__tk @MWRevamped Agreed. I feel this on a spiritual level. Apple has really disappointed with the Siri aspect of AI as well as missing the larger overall benefit of LLMs as a whole. I hope iOS 27 rectifies the Siri situation. Apple use to dominate this space. I see what you mean.

@realtaylorf @absolute__tk @MWRevamped yeah don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on apple, more than anything I'm just incredibly frustrated and disappointed. they have such incredible hardware in their M series chips, all I really want is a local coding model for xcode on par with at least sonnet

( #appleinternal ) Apple Internally uses an application that looks pretty similar to ChatGPT named AFM Playground, which uses Apple’s Foundation Models instead. A few more images below

@wishicaredlol @absolute__tk @MWRevamped Fair correction. But I don’t buy that Apple is just a bystander. They’re not competing the same way Anthropic/OpenAI are. Apple’s play is OS level AI, privacy, local inference, and distribution across billions of devices. Different lane, but definitely in the game.

@realtaylorf @absolute__tk @MWRevamped Apple's 150B model is not running locally. Their local model taps out at 3B parameters. The original post includes a screenshot where the AI fails to respond to a message because the device is offline.

@Lush_Beauty1 I’ve had this before. I had a kidney stone loose itself during a shift when I worked at a fast food restaurant. I thought I was dying. It was the most painful experience I’ve ever felt. The pain was like a sharp pain in my lower back that radiated up my body and it made me vomit.

@absolute__tk @MWRevamped you consider 150B a flex? anthropic’s internal AI (mythos) is reportedly 10T lmfao. what I expected was for apple to be an actual competitor in the AI race and not a bystander 💀💀

@wahab_twts No, because software systems bypass the battery on macOS, preventing the battery from generating excessive heat, which ruins the battery. You can see this when plugged in; it will say the power source. If it says power adapter, the laptop is being powered directly from the wall.
