The New Jersey Devils organization is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of former Devil Claude Lemieux.
A clutch player on the ice and greatly appreciated by Devils' fans off it, Claude's impact in bringing the first-ever Stanley Cup to New Jersey will forever be remembered as one of the paramount performances in team history.
Widely respected throughout the NHL, both as a trusted agent and a valued colleague, Claude leaves behind a lasting legacy within our game that he gave so much to. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time.

After a five-hour march through rugged terrain, Howard's men found the Confederate forces entrenched near Pickett's Mill, 15 miles west of Marietta, Georgia. During the afternoon #OnThisDay May 27, 1864, Union Maj. Gen. Oliver O. Howard ordered an assault against the Confederate works. However, waiting for the Union forces were 10,000 troops under Maj. Gen. Patrick Cleburne. By daybreak, the Confederates were still in possession of the field. This Confederate victory emboldened Johnston to attack Sherman’s right near Dallas the next day. battlefields.org/learn/civil-wa…

After a Stacey Abrams linked NGO reported $100 in revenue in 2023, the Biden EPA awarded them $2 BILLION in 2024. Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, I canceled that entire grant and that NGO has not had access to any of those funds. In fact, the Trump EPA has canceled over $29 BILLION in grants so far on behalf of the hardworking American taxpayer.

Perfumed Prince is big mad that the US Navy has decided to promote based on merit and not genitalia.
Admiral Mike Franken@FrankenforIowa
No women on the Navy flag selection list this year. Sixteen % of the service zeroed out by weak civilian leadership. This will take years to recover.

The final spellbinding minute of Secretary Hegseth’s Memorial Day address will leave you with chills if you listen closely.
Hegseth delivered a powerful vow of remembrance to honor those that paid the ultimate price.
HEGSETH: “Today, with this humble ceremony, we owe at least this, that with every salute, with every ceremony, with every parade, with every prayer, every day, and every year, we remember.”
“That by our remembrance we guard the eternal flame that they lit with the price of their youth.”
“They were Americans from small towns and big cities.”
“And in the words of the Apostle Paul, they stood against the darkness of the world, wearing the breastplate of righteousness.”
“They’ve now gone on to their reward, but we remember them here on this hallowed ground. To them, to those I say, your watch is finished, but the legacy of what you left is eternal.”
“You raced to the breach so that we could walk in freedom and prosperity.”
“May we live lives worthy of their sacrifice and boldly carry forth their fight for freedom, picking up the sword of the spirit and charging forward daily.”
“May Almighty God bless our warriors, and may Almighty God bless our fallen and those they love.”
“Always remember and amen.”

“My acquaintance with him,” President Abraham Lincoln recounted in a letter to the parents of Colonel Elmer Ellsworth, “began less than two years ago; yet through the latter half of the intervening period, it was as intimate as the disparity of our ages, and my engrossing engagements, would permit.”
Ellsworth had worked as a lawyer under Abraham Lincoln in Chicago and was returning South after he had raised the 11th New York Volunteers. #OnThisDay May 24, 1861, Ellsworth and his men arrived in Alexandria, Virginia. While in the city, they spotted a Confederate flag flying at the Marshall House Inn. While trying to remove the flag, Ellsworth was fatally shot by the innkeeper, James Jackson. He was 24 years old.
Affected by the young man’s death, Lincoln wrote to his parents the next day saying, “In the untimely loss of your noble son, our affliction here, is scarcely less than your own.”
