@emilykmay This is probably why my mum liked spending mother's day with us kids - because dad did the planning, and he and us kids did the prep; mum didn't really have to do anything. Dad was a fairly involved parent, and a planner/organizer/detail oriented type, anyway.

"why don't moms want to be with their kids on Mother's Day?" i reckon a lot of moms would love some family time on Mother's Day. at an activity that they did not prepare for, plan, or be the one who doesn't get to eat their meal bc they are feeding/sharing it with a toddler.

On this day in 1920, Barbara Howard was born in Vancouver. She was the first Black woman to represent Canada in an international competition. She won a silver and bronze at the 1934 British Empire Games. Howard died in 2017 and is in Canada's Sports Hall of Fame.

Women grow hair on and around their breasts, chests, legs, arms, stomachs, faces; pretty much anywhere their genetics allow and that’s completely normal. What’s strange is men who’ve never touched a razor trying to shame women for not looking like hairless babies.
