@AbbyLishice @AndrewCurran_ Agreed. I'm geographically isolated from where data centers tend to be I think, but I'll be paying more attention to the local discourse to feel out the vibes.

@reliabytes @AndrewCurran_ I think this is indicative of your real life social world then. Because let me tell you I hear this backlash in real life almost every single day.

New polling today from Gallup. 71% of Americans oppose local construction of datacenters. Anti-datacenter sentiment is now so strong that far more people would rather have a nuclear power plant built next to them than a datacenter.

@ajambrosino This looks so cool. What do I sacrifice to test a Android/Windows connection? I need more ways to burn my 10x credits.

no bro you need to turn on “/extrausage”. dawg are you sure you have “/fast” mode on? Did you check the “no mistakes” toggle? are you sure you picked “correct mode”? did you turn up the “autonomy slider”, that’s how the pros use it,

@AndrewCurran_ I still think Ramp data being limited to Ramp customers significantly undercounts Enterprise use and over represents tech. If this was a tech index, sure I think this is credible but outside of tech Ramp is not a significant thing.

@pashmerepat We have a technical writing skill we use internally at Vercel. We could put it on skills.sh for folks to use. It covers our docs framework which is based upon the diataxis framework, as well as human/agent readability, and our voice and tone.

@emollick Between this and /goal in the Codex app we're getting to Starbucks Secret Menu levels of content visibility. Glad that /study exists at least though, I can actually use that again.

@emollick Fully endorsed. This was helpful even for me as a professional. I had hoped to use it even more with the advancement of the models knowledge in my domain, but I was disappointed that it's been removed.

The silent removal of Study Mode from ChatGPT is a big mistake (both Claude and Gemini still have theirs) We have enough evidence that using AI in assistant mode to study can hurt learning because it just gives you answers, making students think they learned when they have not. You can prompt the model to be a very good tutor, but most people don't know to do that. Study mode was an easy option that parents and teachers could suggest to mitigate negative effects, even if it wasn't perfect. OpenAI still has a page about it, and the link activates study mode but otherwise there seems to be no way to select it from a menu for most accounts. openai.com/index/chatgpt-… (Deleted this by accident, sorry, so reposted!)

@reliabytes can you do that while it’s working and you have a bunch of queued messages or can you fork it whenever? if so, that is awesome and what I’m looking for

codex needs a "chat about this chat" option which creates a new session with a reference to the session logs path and asks the outer chat to RLM over the referenced chat session directory I do this manually already often enough that it should just be baked into the GUI incidentally, OpenProse allows you to declare a reference to an array of runs ( `run[]` ) as a first class input, which means your agents can take trajectories and execution logs as first class language constructs. this lets you write evaluator OpenProse agents, cross-eval-aggregator OpenProse agents, etc...

We're out here creating workforce enablements from first principles. Everyone is becoming a manager, just like @emollick predicted.

@pashmerepat I made a docs skill that follows the Diátaxis framework: diataxis.fr You can just ask the agent to make a new skill

@Miles_Brundage @TheRealAdamG It doesn't pop up like the CLI when you're inputting it, but type it in the same way you would in the CLI and when you hit enter you'll see it show the goal being active.

My ChatGPT use of 5.5-pro has risen significantly. Previously it was faster to just iterate with Codex, but now that I'm using /goal I find it does better if mission control (me) feels more like NASA than Kerbal Space Program.

With /goal in Codex, I have nearly none of the random turn-waiting I had before and spend more time doing other non-digital work tasks or things around the house. It is wonderful. Now, if we can get remote control for Codex, it'll be The End of the beginning.

Recent things, not comprehensive... Good: The folder/file open options have made it my daily knowledge work hub. Love the ability to use Codex as the home base. Seems faster with lastest update vs freezing on long chat loads. Bad: I feel like the model struggles to find things like rg or can forget Powershell syntax. I've also seen it get hung on a too-broad folder or Excel search, even when warned. Maybe that's not Windows-specific root causes, but I don't see it on the timeline from Mac users. Nothing ugly right now. Would love to see Computer Use soon, but I understand it'll need time to get right.
