Had a great tour of Steindler Orthopedics’ Surgery Center and Clinic in North Liberty, where I learned more about the high-quality care they provide to patients. We also discussed reimbursement rates and pre-authorization which helped to ensure physicians can continue delivering accessible, efficient, and high-quality care.

Today, I convened my third Rural Healthcare Roundtable, bringing together 13 hospitals in Washington County to discuss the first-of-its-kind $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program that we delivered in the Working Families Tax Cuts. Direct input from hospitals is critical to making sure this investment strengthens rural hospitals, expands access, and delivers better care across Iowa.

Enjoyed visiting Hawkeye Steel in Houghton to discuss China’s unfair trade practices, from manipulation to undercutting U.S. steel and aluminum. We need real solutions that put American manufacturers and workers first. 🇺🇸

We discussed key provisions like the 20% small business deduction and reduced taxes on tips and overtime, pro-growth policies that will increase wages, support business expansion, and drive stronger economic activity across our state.

Even though it was cut short, I had an incredible roundtable with business leaders, farmers, and community stakeholders in Washington County on the Working Families Tax Cuts. We highlighted permanent death tax and small business relief, $1,000 baby accounts, and other key provisions from this historic bill, which give employers the certainty they need to plan, grow, and create more jobs while helping workers keep more of what they earn.

Currently in Washington County, where we had to pause our roundtable on the Working Families Tax Cuts and take cover due to tornado sirens. Grateful everyone is safe, please stay alert, watch for warnings, and take care.

Enjoyed visiting the newly opened Heart Song Adult Day Center in Burlington. Their amazing team provides seniors with meaningful socialization and programs that enrich quality of life, while also giving caregivers much-needed relief during this important transitional stage.

Had a great morning at the Van Buren County Veterans Breakfast. As a 24-year Army veteran, it’s always an honor to meet with those who served, share an update on what’s happening in Congress, and talk about our work for veterans and their families. At events like these, I also receive requests for assistance directly from veterans and work to get those issues resolved quickly. 🇺🇸

Proud to announce I secured $750,000 in Community Project Funding for the Veterans District Sanitary and Storm Sewer Project in Knoxville. I met with city leaders to discuss how this investment will help build the critical infrastructure needed to unlock over 110 acres of new housing at the former VA campus and support future growth.

It was great visiting Knoxville Hospital & Clinics, where I toured their new infusion center and specialty clinics wing. I had a productive conversation with CEO Kevin Kincaid and Chief Nursing Officer Jan Myers about the first-of-its-kind $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Fund in the Working Families Tax Cuts.

For many Iowans, tips make up most of their paycheck. Thanks to the No Tax on Tips provision in the Working Families Tax Cuts, tipped workers will take home about $1,300 more on average, keeping more of their hard-earned money where it belongs, in their pockets.

The strength of our military is built on the strength of the family. This month, we honor the 1.6 million military children whose resilience and grit make the mission possible. 🇺🇸🎖️

Members of the House & Senators need to be in DC, regardless of Distrct work, because the American people deserve better. The Department of Homeland Security is shut down. The American people expect us to end the excuses and blame game. We should be back in DC fulfilling our Constitutional duty. I have voted to fund DHS four times, we must resolve this impasse.

As a physician, I know medicine is more than a profession, it’s a commitment to serve, to heal, and to stand with patients and families in their most difficult moments.
