@KeithOlbermann Just "Trump" is insufficient, as that is his brand. In the spirit of 1984's unperson, we should call him #UnpresidentTrump

Jesse Ventura suggest that Donald Trump may have faked his assassination attempt. Piers Morgan: Well, when he got shot, Jesse, to be fair to Trump, when he got shot, he got back up and said "fight, fight, fight." Jesse Ventura: "Oh yeah, right, right, right. You ever hear of a blade job?" Piers Morgan: What, you think it was fake? Jesse Ventura: "I don't know. Where's his scar today?"

@isherphi1980 @Mikeggibbs Obama added a basketball hoop to an existing tennis court that he also used to play tennis. Trump turned the Rose garden into maralago club north, ripped out the other Kennedy garden, and destroyed the east wing to build a (throne) ballroom bigger than the main White House.

@Mikeggibbs That's Trumps prerogative. Obama installed a basketball court. Taste is something that can't be legislated, although Liberals would legislated it if they could.

Did you notice that he's desecrated the Oval Office? The next President can't get rid of the gold on the sea shells without damaging the walls. It demonstrates how the American system of checks and balances utterly failed. Despite there being laws protecting historical spaces like the White House, when it came down to it, no one had the nerve to stop him. No one can stop an insane man from turning the office into a place fit for a tyrannical monarch basking in opulence. There's no check strong enough in the American system. Our check, ironically, is our King. Our constitutional monarch must obey and even respect, parliament, the people. The existence of King Charles means our Prime Minister, no matter how powerful the PMO is, always has an authority above them that they must consult, and swear allegiance to. That's the beauty of our constitutional democracy the Americans are sorely lacking.

@Buzzaroonied @anishmoonka @randomu_goldend 95% of movies are distributed in digital cinema packages (DCP), which are files on hard drives or sent over Internet. Even if they are shot on film most screenings are digital.

@anishmoonka @randomu_goldend While that makes sense for digitally shot movies. The truth is that the best films are shot on film. Not every movie is digital. And if it is digital, I’m more than likely not buying a ticket. There are still many films being shot on film though. This is slightly deceptive

Sure, your eyes aren’t tricking you. That clip looks better than the new trailer, and the reason has nothing to do with talent. The VFX supervisor on Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014? Jerome Chen. The VFX supervisor on Brand New Day? Also Jerome Chen. Same person. Completely different system around him. In 2014, Chen had 50 effects artists at Sony Imageworks, the largest VFX crew the studio had ever put on a single project. They handled about 1,000 of the film’s 1,600 VFX shots on a $255 million budget. The crew shot on real film (not digital), on location in actual New York City, scanned Times Square with 36,000 photographs of over 100 billboards, and built physical lighting rigs on set so the CGI would match the real world. Now look at how Marvel makes Spider-Man movies. No Way Home had 2,500 VFX shots spread across 12 studios and about 3,000 artists. The budget was $200 million, $55 million less than TASM2 despite having 56% more VFX shots. Digital Domain, one of the VFX vendors, was delivering final shots days before the December 17, 2021, release. They kept reworking shots into mid-January, after the movie was already in theaters. Zoom out, and the math gets worse. Marvel released 6 films between 2008 and 2012. From 2023 to 2025, they pushed out 7 films and 7 TV shows. The Hollywood union representing VFX workers reported that Marvel pays artists about 20% below industry average and staffs one person where other studios hire three. Artists described 64-hour weeks and breakdowns on the job. Then, in February 2025, Technicolor, the parent company of MPC (three-time Oscar winner for Life of Pi, The Jungle Book, and 1917), collapsed almost overnight. 4,500 jobs gone globally. The studio had been actively working on Disney and Paramount films when the lights went out. Brand New Day has four months before release, and trailers routinely show unfinished shots. But the gap between a 2014 Spider-Man and a 2026 Spider-Man has nothing to do with technology going backwards. The industry has been asked to do three times the work for less money per shot while its biggest studios are going under.

Someone explain how this looks better than the new Spiderman trailer. This movie is 12 years old.

@CreekMamaATX @TracesofTexas Bell bottoms were worn by sailors for decades prior, way back to the 19th century. They became popular in the 70's in part because they could be bought cheap from military surplus stores.

@TracesofTexas The one in the bell bottoms looks like a girl. Were bell bottoms around in the 30s? Thought they were a 60s/70s thing. Again…too staged, too tidy, high photo quality. Conspiracy theorist lens of course.

Here's an INCREDIBLE photo of men (and a boy) in a cafe in Breckenridge, Texas back in 1930. The details are exquisite, from the calendar on the wall (which tells us that it's July), to the white diner-style coffee mugs and bowls to the bell bottoms being worn by the boy to the ice cream sign and the All Gold coffee sign. And what is that piece of furniture that the boy is leaning on? It has to be either a radio or perhaps a jukebox but I've never seen anything like it! Any ideas? This is just another unbelievably great photo by our old friend Basil Clemons and provided by the great folks at @spcouta . PLEASE follow them if you are not already!

BREAKING: Judge orders viral DOGE deposition videos taken down after HUMILIATING testimony spreads across the internet The Trump administration just scored a temporary courtroom victory — but not before millions of Americans saw exactly how Elon Musk’s controversial DOGE operation was making decisions that upended federal programs. A federal judge has now ordered that viral deposition videos featuring former Department of Government Efficiency staffers be removed from the internet after clips exploded across social media. And the reason they went viral is pretty obvious. In the now-infamous testimony, DOGE employees admitted they used ChatGPT to identify federal grants to cancel under the administration’s anti-DEI crackdown — despite having no background in the humanities, history, or the fields they were judging. One clip that spread like wildfire featured a DOGE staffer explaining why a project about Jewish women forced into slave labor during the Holocaust had been flagged as inappropriate. His explanation? Because the documentary focused on Jewish women and amplified “marginalized voices,” making it — in his view — a diversity program. Yes, really. The videos quickly became internet fodder, with critics mocking the testimony as proof that sweeping cultural and academic cuts were being made by inexperienced operatives armed with little more than an AI chatbot and ideological talking points. But the controversy surrounding DOGE doesn’t stop there. A separate whistleblower report recently alleged that a DOGE-linked software engineer walked out of the Social Security Administration with a thumb drive containing data on roughly 500 million Americans — including Social Security numbers, birth dates, and citizenship information. According to the whistleblower, the engineer even bragged that if the move turned out to be illegal, Donald Trump would simply pardon him. Now, as the videos disappear from YouTube under court order, the groups suing the government argue the public is being deprived of crucial evidence about how DOGE operated behind closed doors.BREAKING: Judge orders viral DOGE deposition videos taken down after HUMILIATING testimony spreads across the internet Their message is simple: if these officials were confident in their decisions, the public should be able to see how those decisions were made. Because when AI, ideology, and government power collide — transparency matters more than ever. At least we still have the written articles detailing the failures of the DOGE bros. Please like and share!

Trump: "We just concluded a very good meeting with the largest U.S. Defense Manufacturing Companies where we discussed Production and Production Schedules. They have agreed to quadruple Production of the 'Exquisite Class' Weaponry in that we want to reach, as rapidly as possible, the highest levels of quantity. Expansion began three months prior to the meeting, and Plants and Production of many of these Weapons are already under way. We have a virtually unlimited supply of Medium and Upper Medium Grade Munitions, which we are using, as an example, in Iran, and recently used in Venezuela. Regardless, however, we have also increased Orders at these levels. The Companies represented were the CEOs of BAE Systems, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, L3Harris Missile Solutions, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. The meeting concluded with another meeting scheduled in two months. States all over the Country are bidding for these new Plants. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

@grok @zoofactory @CattardSlim @grok While this may have taken place during the 2025 paper straw EO signing, at no point is anyone talking about paper straws in this clip. The entirety of the clip is Trumps story about Lutnick on 9/11. Your attempt at context clarification misses the point.

@zoofactory @CattardSlim Fair point—my intent was to clarify the clip's actual context: Trump's Feb 10, 2025, executive order on paper straws, not 9/11. If it felt like trolling, that's not the goal. What's your take on the original post?

Bad Bunny brought the party to the Super Bowl halftime show as he promised, performing hits from "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" a week after winning Album of the Year for it at the 2026 Grammys. Paying tribute to his homeland, the field was filled with palm trees and other vegetation native to Puerto Rico. Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin also made surprise performances during the show. Other celebrity cameos included Pedro Pascal, Jessica Alba, Cardi B and Karol G.

“If you were to ask a Trump voter what they liked about him over a Democratic rival in any of the three elections he ran in, their first response would invariably be, ‘I think he will be good for the economy’. POTUS’ family has made four billion in the last year alone, so MAGA voters were in a way correct, they just didn’t quite understand it would be Trump’s personal economy that would benefit and the rest of the United States would suffer. We haven’t even begun to fully feel the impact of his cuts to the federal agencies that helped many Americans to survive, from healthcare to nutritional assistance; we are going to see catastrophic suffering as a result of the GOP’s destruction of social safety nets. The fact that everything about this train wreck was entirely avoidable will never not be a roiling resentment between the citizens who dealt in facts and the minions that voted for a man who had already attempted a putsch and shown himself more unworthy of holding higher office than anyone in our 250 years of existence as a nation. They never once stopped to contemplate the fact that the bushel of bitter fruit he was selling them was poison.” open.substack.com/pub/noelcasler…

@Authw8 @docscarabus If you want serious, go over to the War College. The Star Fleet of explorers has been largely lost for 100 years. the way that i think of this is that this is a fun quirk for a captain to have. it makes her different from other captains we've seen. it also fits her character because she's supposed to be like 500 years old and sort of doesn't give a fuck, she got talked into doing this as a favor. the actual problem is that nobody calls her out on it. it gives it a weird sense of like, is every captain like that in this version of trek? plus every single character is loaded to the gills on quirkiness so you never get to slow down, the whole show is an overstimulating barrage of annoying personality quirks.

"Please let this Letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canada's joining, what will be, the most prestigious Board of Leaders ever assembled, at any time," Trump wrote in a post addressing Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Earlier Thursday, Canada said it had accepted an invitation to join the board. It's unclear what prompted Trump to withdraw the invitation. cbsn.ws/49zxNKy

I didn’t find this hippo at an antique store, garage sale, or thrift shop. I was actually telling my mom about the idea of a house hippo and how I was on a serious hunt for one. She quietly got up, went into the back room, and came back holding this beautiful hippo. I say it’s beautiful first because she gave it to me. But even more special—on the bottom is my son’s name and the date. He was just 2 years old when he painted this. This hippo means everything to me. My son was diagnosed with brain cancer when he was 8 years old, and he passed away at 14. It has been five years since he’s been gone, and I had no idea my mom had kept this precious treasure from him all this time. Does this count as a house hippo? It absolutely does to me—the most special little hippo I have ever seen. ♥️🦛 Credit - marta hanger
