@Lacadenafarms I won't deal with EGT ever again because of a similar issue. Higher priced locked in for #1&2. They graded it a 3. Went across the street to another buyer said the nicest lentils he had seen and wanted them. 2 other companies same thing.

@stevemagness A program is a reflection of the coach. That is why actions are greater than words. If you want your athletes to act with class you must also.

Emotions are contagious. Research shows that a coaches emotions gets transferred onto the player. If a coach is losing his mind in anger, a player is more likely to be frustrated, make more errors, and have a negative disposition.

@stevemagness From listening to your book that was my take away. It is about giving athletes/people the coping mechanisms ahead of time so when a situation does happen they know how to navigate and cope this situation. Allowing people to fail, learn and correct and do it again better.

We've got a youth mental health epidemic. Part of the reason? Without being aware of it, adults are training kids to have hypersensitive threat alarms, without the tools or resources to handle any sort of challenge. The consequences are dire: thegrowtheq.com/stop-hovering-…

@MikePalmier If there is an alternative to a 14 it should be used. Ceriitude instead of conquer in burnoff and watch the wheat burns too. No authority in front of wheat if using it or fierce in front of peas lentils. 14s are everywhere and they should be used only in the pulse year IMO

We have a major problem. High cross resistance has been shown with Group 14s in kochia. Losing Authority will be a massive blow to our kochia strategy. We can’t spray ourselves out of this. #integratedpestmanagement
Joe Ikley@NDSUWeeds

Preview for the first Crop and Pest article this year. We have confirmed Group 14 resistant kochia in 19 counties in the state. AND a rapid test is now available at the NAGC @nagclab genotypingcenter.com/product/kochia/ genotypingcenter.com/wp-content/upl… More details in the article Thursday morning

“Elite” youth teams are an invention of adults, for adults. When kids are selected young, it causes: 1. More sport-specific practice for the few 2. A false sense of early growth 3. A “radiating effect” of needing more sport-specific practice to get picked 4. Coaches to judge success on winning, not development Long-term, it’s kids that are the greatest losers in this process.

@stevemagness If critiquing is looked upon as positive by everyone as a chance 2 learn & get better is a huge factor. If critiquing is done harshly, as punishment, 2 demean someone it is negative experience. Have 2 create a culture that is about doing, learning, correcting, do again but better

Criticism is sticky. Praise is transient. Research shows criticism often lingers. Especially if we are already in a negative state. This isn't good or bad. It just is. It means you need to be deliberate & intentional on when & how you provide productive critiques.

Reminds me of the Dodsland Hotel in harvest, there were a whole bunch of us who’d occasionally stop by for a beer on the way home after a long day in the field, BS about all the stupid stuff that happened that day, laugh, vent, have some chips. The good old days.

A very full in-box today from outraged Canadians who don't fit the "multi-millionaire" description offered by the prime minister but will be sideswiped by the capital gains tax inclusion increase nonetheless. 1/2

@Slic_Ric_DaRula @BrandonHerring0 Wrestling maybe optimal in a little later for most kids. Every kid is different of course so exceptions exist. But success at wrestling needs physical literacy & a desire to compete against others. That usually comes a little later in development.

Question: “Coach, what’s one activity you’d do with a 5-6 year old boy to get them kind of started in athletics?” Answer: “Gymnastics”

@ProfSmithSask It is a tax increase on every entrepreneur, most don't have a pension plan their pension is when they sell their business. It is an eventual tax on every entrepreneur the hardware store owner, plumber, restauranter, farmer, fisherman, and self-employed professional, etc.. 0.13%?

plumber, restauranter, farmer, fisherman, and self-employed professional, etc.. If this is only 0.1% of the population then as a country we are in severe trouble. This also affects the transfer of assets to the next generation.

Most small business owners do not have a pension, as they spend their money on building their company. Their pension is when they sell their business is the capital gains. It is not the ultra-wealthy tax it is a tax eventual tax on every entrepreneur the hardware store owner,

@Wytrykush_C @kperlik mortgage or land rent is still a bill to pay. The big thing is are you making money farming the land. Preference is to own land but if it doesn't make money easier to get out overpriced land rent than an overpriced mortgage.

@kperlik My take on it (working in ag, not a farmer to clarify) if you are looking to buy they are bad guys. However, most farms need to rent land for economics to work. You can’t make money farming with land payments on every acre. Rent or old owned land is needed to make a profit

News flash: most business owners don't have pension plans. What they have is a business that they were planning to sell when the time comes to retire. The capital gains hike is a direct attack on the retirements of those who spent their careers building the Canadian economy.

The media spin on the #Budget2024 is that the capital gains tax rate going from 50 to 66% will only affect the wealthy top 1% of Canadians. I would say family farms just took a hard kick in the nuts. My guess is the vast majority of farmers according 2 them we are the 1% wealthy

Being old enough to actually remember the 1982 budget debacle and having a lot of respect for David Dodge, this is a truly scary 2024 budget prediction. ctvnews.ca/politics/why-o…

@lbossaer @kinsellawarren It was totally taken at the peak of forest fires they even said that. Picking data to get the answer you want. I am pretty sure no where in the NWT would ever rate higher than any major city in Canada/USA and definitely not Mexico unless a forest fire was happening.

@kinsellawarren Agree with much of it except I think the air pollution part was taken in the middle of the forest fires so not accurate. No air pollution data should be used if it is picking the dates right during some areas having forest fires.
