@echetus I have to ask, is there even a tiny kernel of truth he's getting this from? Only thing I could imagine he's getting this is from is the tendency of some employers in some European cities, most notably Paris, to throw out applications from applicants from undesirable subburbs?

Phil Foden is gonna get 100 caps purely from managers trying to shoehorn him into teams that are much better without him, all at the behest of the Football Writer's Association

@alexanderrX_ The problem is people going to university. Unless youre going to study sciences and work in the field-ie research etc there's no reason to go to university.Even lawyers dont need a law degree Quite possible to get a degree in any shytty subject and do a one yr conversion course

love the uk system. £9,250 a year for uni. £50k debt before you even start. then once you earn enough to actually pay it back they hit you with 40% tax 2% ni 9% student loan. 51% marginal rate. but sure the problem is you bought a coffee this morning lol

1k people have so far liked an incredibly moronic post 🤦. It's absurd commentary like this and people's willingness to believe it that made Sunak believe cancelling #HS2 was a vote winner.

Hundreds of reservoirs were built in Britain before 1992, for sure. But it was largely not Britain that built them. It was the municipal corporations and local governments who built them. If we wish to retvrn, we should remember that.
Ben Graham@BenGrahamUK

Britain built hundreds of reservoirs before 1992, over 200 in the 20th century. Now? Not one major new reservoir in over 30 years. Population up 13 million. Demand soaring. But Britain has become a country where nothing gets built anymore, strangled by red tape, judicial reviews, and short term politics. A developed nation that’s forgotten how to develop.

the uk senior swe market has split in two. ai company roles paying 120 to 150k and then everything else scraping along at 80k. who is accepting 80k for senior engineering work?(especially in London) the difference between the US and the UK is simple. america treats software engineers as specialists. the uk treats them as IT support with a different title.

@EngFocus Radio 4 today said it was because the trains would need to be sent to China to test them as they where to fast to test on uk networks. At a huge cost. So a simple solution build them in China and test them in China, theyre already build their own trains

I haven't been able to read #HS2 £1bn per mph claims, as they're behind pay walls. But the it just seems absurd. What are they even basing that on? Energy costs, infrastructure? 1/5

To all the Rice/Gabriel captain shouters: where has the leadership gone today? We've lost this entirely because we have no on the pitch leadership. We've always been best when Ødegaard has been captain for a reason

I would say my rattle levels are pretty high because this was so self-inflicted but in terms of kind of sucking horror in my stomach it's not so bad, my spirit doesn't care about this trophy. if this was the League game I'd be on my way to Dignitas.

I hate this. Treasury brain is going to nerf what is left of this project, and rail advocates won't defend it because the bizarre hairshirt thinking they have where they insist HS2 is not about speed. Speed is a key property of trains. It saves you time. Time is what matters.

It's not complicated and it's got nothing to do with style of football, nobody wants to see big teams who haven't won anything in a while break their duck. It's standard fan stuff. Almost no champions or challengers are ever actually loved by the 'neutral' because there is no such thing as a 'neutral.' People don't mind City winning the league because it's very easy to compartmentalise and they don't have a big fanbase so people just don't encounter many City fans online and in day to day life. All this stuff about 'style' is utter nonsense.
