Acts 11:26 “And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.” Acts 26:28 “Then Agrippa said to Paul, ‘Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?’” 1 Peter 4:16 “Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.” Acts 9:2 “…if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.” Acts 19:9 “…he withdrew the disciples… because some became hardened… speaking evil of the Way.” Acts 19:23 “About that time there arose no little disturbance concerning the Way.” Acts 24:14 “According to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers…” Jesus was almost killed on Hannukah for preaching a different message. He was eventually killed for preaching a different message. He was God who came to be a missionary to Jews so had to teach them using stories they already knew, but he was not teaching the same lessons through those stories. Rabbinic Judaism as a system did not even exist then. Rabbi was just a word for teacher, not a formal title like it is now.

The Bible is a collection of 66 Jewish books written by God through Jewish men (save for one book, written by God through a non-Jewish man). This is an indisputable fact. It doesn’t mean Jews don’t have to go through the Son. They do. It doesn’t mean there’s any way except Christ. There isn’t. But it does mean that our Christian faith is intrinsically and irrevocably connected to Judaism and Jews. We are not supposed to be mocking and reviling them. We’re supposed to be ministering Christ to them.

@KimIversenShow @NJBeisner I don't think so. There was no such thing as Christianity when Jesus lived. From what I can gather, he was an orthodox Jew who preached to jews. His followers referred to him as rabbi, even though he was not ordained as such.

If you’re a Christian you’d have to believe The Bible is a collection of Christian books. The men who wrote it were Christian. Jesus was Christian and only was ever a Christian. His mother and father were also Christians. They lived in Jewish communities but they did not share the same faith with their neighbors, obviously.
