@LSthirdact @misty013 @ZenMonkeyStudio @ask_aubry It’s not even the biologically “right” time to give birth! Most (not all) girls are technically capable of it by then, but the death rates are higher for both the girl and the baby for another couple of years. Because puberty is a process, and it’s a long way from complete.
English

@misty013 @ZenMonkeyStudio @ask_aubry What makes you think that the onset of puberty is the biologically "right" time to get married?

@g0DySsEy @CeramicToast If you think an author shouldn’t write something because someone in their audience might take it the wrong way, then you’re pro-censorship, you just think that Your censorship is the ethical kind. Almost everyone who’s ever banned a book has thought they were the good guy.
English

@g0DySsEy @CeramicToast There’s no effective difference in real life, which makes your “I don’t believe in censorship but people shouldn’t write certain things,” a masturbatory exercise. You either believe it’s irresponsible to write something, therefore an author shouldn’t write something, or you don’t

@drgurner @AdamChudy Ok, so what’s your solution you worked out? Are you more than happy to pay the 60% income tax or what have you that it would take to do that? Because if you believe this but baulk at paying the same total amount, then you don’t have a belief system, you have greed & entitlement.
English

@AdamChudy You don't believe Americans have a fundamental right to own property fully - and I do. I start from that premise and work the rest out.
Seniors, the middle class and the poor benefit from being able to actually own their homes.

@AlexFlis_ @frogs4girls It devolved from there. It’s possible it was a troll, but… I’m pretty sure they were for real. Someone who legitimately couldn’t grasp the difference between smart people making something, and the resulting something being smart. 😭
English

@AlexFlis_ @frogs4girls Ironically, I once disputed something someone said on Reddit and they came back with it was correct because they had got it from chatGP. I pointed out that chatGP makes stuff up, complete with sources, and they came back with a long rant about how AI is the future of research
English

@AlexFlis_ @frogs4girls and do I really think that I’m smarter and know more than all the thousands of doctors and researchers that have worked on it.
My reply, of course, was maybe not, but I’m definitely way smarter than any fucking chatbot, especially one who is designed to make things up.

@zillowgonewild Uh. How sure are you that this isn't some financial corporation's corporate headquarters?
English

For #zgwmansionmondays, here’s a home in Warren Twp (no idea what twp is short for) that has a indoor pool, fully lighted and fenced tennis court, primary suite with spa like bathroom, gym, chefs kitchen with the biggest hood we’ve ever seen, and huuuuuge lower level with a large recreation room, wet bar, dance floor, media room, bedroom, full-service kitchen, wine cellar, and fitness room leading to the indoor pool and spa.
Currently listed for only $4,000,000

English

@AsherHopp @zillowgonewild “I still can’t believe that dude turned down a literal million and a half dollars,” I’d think, “but mine now! I’m not complaining!”
English

@AsherHopp @zillowgonewild I would leave for Baltimore tonight with that check in hand. I work remotely, and can pay someone with my newfound fortune to come pack up my stuff, while I lounge comfortably in a luxury hotel suite and search zillow for a lovely house in a good neighborhood.

@SwiftOnSecurity I think the new programmers are probably winning this one.

@johnhobbit50 @shtpst @dieworkwear Someone has never stood on a sidewalk in Chicago in February as the tall buildings and wide, open streets turn into it the world’s coldest windtunnel.
English

@DarkWolfRJ2 @_felipeloiola @PythonMaps @nilslorand That ability is why we have a full field of vision, even though in reality our eyes can only perceive narrow slits, upside down. Our brains do that for everything. Anyone who has ever completed a sheet of visual tricks is familiar with this - or anyone who has seen a magic show.
English

@DarkWolfRJ2 @_felipeloiola @PythonMaps @nilslorand But that’s what I’m saying - it’s not actually a question of smart versus dumb. Human brains are highly dependent on pattern recognition to fill in gaps, no matter what your intelligence level is.
