@HerzogIND @jasonhum72 @ColbyCohen36 @Buccigross But that is a problem with the format. It's nearly impossible to select 4 different sites and place teams accordingly that will maximize attendance AND not screw over higher seeds. It's always been a problem and will not go away as long as this format is in place

@HerzogIND @ColbyCohen36 @Buccigross I don't see how the current format helps those teams, and I don't see how a new format would hinder them in any way. Having home ice is not even that big of an advantage in hockey, but it does create a fun environment and these kids want to play in that

@rmkusmc @ColbyCohen36 @Buccigross All it will do is aid the Top 10 programs - and I root for a number of them. But let’s understand what it will actually do! It won’t help grow the game or CC, Bemidji, St Thomas, Clarkson, Providence, or the Maine’s of the world.

@HerzogIND @ColbyCohen36 @Buccigross DU would not have had home ice yesterday and they would not have had home ice in either of the regional games they played last year. If they switch to the format he's calling for and they get home ice in a given year, it will be because they earned it

@ColbyCohen36 @Buccigross Yeah it should tell you he knows he’ll always have home games in the tournament. How do you, Bucci, and others not see the self-interest here?

@LetsGoDU Are they going to move Cornell since they would matched up with Dartmouth in the first round? I was thinking they might get swapped with Wisconsin

It brings me no joy to say this but you may as well etch Loveland in stone: 4 Western Michigan 13 Minnesota State 5 Denver 12 Wisconsin I’ll be floored if they send WMU to Worcester and Michigan State to Loveland.

Parayko uses his negotiated no trade and people kick a fuss up. The real issue as I see it was why was the trade public in the 1st place until signed off? Who leaks this? Not player, not agent .. no benefit. Cheesy of teams to back door pressure the player that they gave no trade to. If that's where the info came from

People will really watch this play and talk about “tie goes to the offense” Where do you see a tie? This isn’t some struggle for possession. There is not even a half second where both players have the ball. JMac straight up took it. Fake controversy.

@JWP303 @RyanKoenigsberg Monfort is not a good businessman. He's been primary owner since 2005 and still not close to having the net worth of a billionaire. Over the years if he would have allowed a competent baseball person to make decisions with the same payroll, team would win more and bring in more $

@RyanKoenigsberg hard to blame him - he's seen the Monforts have success with this business model for a couple decades now. Just build a party stadium in a good location and profit.

Congratulations to Mark Davis for destroying a unique franchise by moving them to Las Vegas. Going into the Blackhole and winning used to mean something. Playing the Raiders used to mean something. The Raiders had an identity. Yesterday, the Broncos beat the Raiders and it felt no different than beating the Titans. Actually sad. x.com/ZacStevensDNVR…

@Denvrfan2012 @TroyRenck The last time they went to the postseason in 2018, they went 44-38 on the road. If they put a good team together, they can win games away from Coors.

@TroyRenck But who’s going to figure out how to make the altitude-to-sea level adjustment? Historically, the safest bet is a hapless offensive attack for at least the 1st road series after a homestand. It’s as predictable as the sun rising in the East.

Correct. You can win. The winning window is smaller bc of how altitude impacts pitching. But you can certainly be competitive. The last three years have been an embarrassment
Dave Eck@jdavideck

@TroyRenck Troy, it’s hilarious to read all the stupid takes from self-proclaimed experts on how you can’t win at altitude. It’s like the first 15 years of the Rockies never happened.

The Colorado Eagles have just signed a 40-year lease at a new arena within Cascadia Development in the city of Greeley, CO: “The Colorado Eagles, proud AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have officially reached an agreement with the City of Greeley on the principal terms of a 40-year lease at a new arena within the Cascadia development. The agreement will see the Eagles take to the ice for the first time in Greeley when the AHL kicks off the 2028-29 season, with Colorado continuing to play its home games at Blue Arena through 2027-28.  ‘We are extremely excited to partner with the City of Greeley to become the anchor tenant at this world-class facility,” said Eagles owner and CEO Martin Lind. “As we await the completion of construction, we are pleased to be able to continue to entertain our fans at Blue Arena, which has served as our home since our inaugural season in 2003-04. We will continue to provide the same outstanding experience that our fans have enjoyed for over two decades and are committed to making these final three seasons at Blue Arena our best ones yet.’ The new 8,600-seat arena is the cornerstone of the Catalyst Project, an entertainment district planned for the west side of Greeley, near the intersection of Highway 34 and County Road 17. In addition to the arena’s three additional ice sheets for youth hockey, Cascadia will also be home to a hotel & water park, conference center, restaurants, as well as retail space and housing.  During construction of the new facility, the Eagles will continue to call Blue Arena home, with the team slated to play every home game at The Ranch Complex in Larimer County through the 2027-28 season.”

@therealbonix @redwardsradio No they weren't. If he wouldn't have used the timeouts, yes the clock would have run down a bit, but they weren't in field goal range yet, so they would not have bled it all the way down. The time to use the timeouts was after they picked up the final first down and before the FG

@redwardsradio I thought the timeouts were used at the right time. if he didnt use it when he did the colts wouldve just bled the clock. being around midfield they were just gonna keep running the ball anyway

@BroncoBob19813 @DillonCaster @TroyRenck I remember a little bit of snow falling in the 2014 game against Miami, but yeah, I don't recall any others, and I don't think we've had any snow games since 2015 against the Pats

@DillonCaster @TroyRenck Broncos fan here… only snow games I remember in recent decades were the win against New England in 2015 and loss to Oakland in 2004. Have there been any more in the 2000’s in Denver?

Here’s the other thing about snow games. They happen usually, on average, once a year. This romanticized version of the #Broncos operating in a snow globe on game days is largely a myth

@JWP303 @TroyRenck The Rockies are not good at development and there's no reason to think that will change, but if you add enough legit arms, a few can still turn into something decent in spite of that and maybe you get a window of good young pitching like what we had in '07, '09, '17, and '18.

@TroyRenck honest question - is there any reason to believe they can develop them? has anything changed in terms of resources or coaching in that area? to say it's been a deficiency would be a massive understatement.

Quick Scouting report on pitchers #Rockies received from #Yankees A-ball team from source. Herring is lefty with funky delivery. FB is 89-93 and SL is his best pitch. Has changeup. Grosz is a bit of a standard righty. 92-96 on FB. Changeup has been best pitch. Had to get pitching in deal. Now can they get them to contribute in big leagues? That has been the issue with their developmental program.

@paulsy01 @DNVRSaez @katiejwoo @WillSammon Our hitting is actually worse than our pitching. Either way, there is no reason to hold on to relievers that another team is willing to give up something for when you're years away from being competitive

@Vbrennan25 @CardsByTravis @DNVRSaez @katiejwoo @WillSammon I don’t know if I’d call this a rebuild. The Monforts run a team that’s talent is worse than most Triple A clubs. However, I do agree. There’s no point in buying. I guess try to acquire some prospects, try to develop those guys, and maybe have a real foundation in a 2-4 years 🤷🏻‍♂️
