In Biertan, Romania, a church had a "divorce room" where couples seeking separation were locked together for two weeks with just one bed, chair, table, plate, and spoon. In 300 years, it only failed once.

A 36-year-old man in Colorado is suing the hospital where he was born for allegedly switching him with another child at birth. Jeremy Morrison says he always felt different than his family and decided to get a DNA test a couple of years ago. When he got the test back, he found out that his parents were not actually his parents. "I know I definitely wouldn’t be here in Colorado today if I went home with the right parents. I would have been working the farm with my older brother that I never knew I had," he said. Morrison says he was switched with Kyle Bylin, who was born just hours apart at the same hospital in Grafton, North Dakota, in 1988. Morrison went home with Bylin's biological parents, and Bylin went home with Morrison's biological parents. Both of the men and their families are suing Unity Medical Center. They are demanding more than $50,000 and a jury trial. According to KKTV, both parents have now met their biological sons.

In the 2002 documentary Bowling For Columbine, director Michael Moore walked around Toronto & noticed no one was locking their doors. 24 years later the city & its attitude now look unrecognizable. Do you think all their doors are still unlocked? 🧐

@CollinRugg 50k is that just the minimum amount and then they’ll sue for millions in punitive damages? And of course it was the hospital, they were both born on the same day at the same hospital how else could it have happened?

This is a heartbreaking story! 😭 AJ Hutto was six years old when he watched his mother drown his seven-year-old sister, Adrianna, in their backyard pool in Esto, Florida. He didn't just lose his sister that day. He lost everything that came after it. When AJ walked into that Florida courtroom, he hasn't seen his mother in six months. He didn't recognize her at first. When he did, he broke down crying. Then he told the court what he saw - his mother dunking Adrianna in the water as punishment! Sentence: Life in prison. No parole. Plus 30 years for aggravated child abuse! Tragic!

Physics In History@PhysInHistory·
The Lost Work of Ludwig Boltzmann: 📑 Ludwig Boltzmann (1844 - 1906), an Austrian physicist, made profound contributions to the field of statistical mechanics and the concept of entropy, providing a statistical interpretation of the second law of thermodynamics. This was during a time when the existence of atoms was still questioned by many in the scientific community. Boltzmann's ideas, though fundamental to the later development of quantum mechanics and our current understanding of the physical world, were largely overlooked and met with significant opposition during his lifetime. Frustrated by the widespread rejection of his theories, compounded by personal health problems, Boltzmann tragically committed suicide in 1906. It wasn't until after his death, as the concept of atoms gained widespread acceptance and the groundbreaking implications of his work became clear, that Boltzmann's contributions to physics were fully recognized. Today, his name and work continue to resonate in various key concepts of statistical mechanics and thermodynamics.

Between 1915 and 1926, Encephalitis Lethargica, or sleeping sickness, swept the world. It left people frozen—awake but unable to move or speak. Half a million died or became trapped in their bodies. Then, just as suddenly as it appeared, it vanished without explanation. More chilling historical photos: bit.ly/46yA996
