Re the AI disruption discourse. The best AI education model I've seen has a hallucination rate of 0.14%. That is great for an LLM - but it's still quite a lot. If every school kid in England used it for two lessons, that would be 1 million errors. Currently you are still going to need humans to manage / mitigate / correct the errors.

Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Aidan Chambers. His reflections on reading, the environments that nurture it, and the centrality of talk have profoundly shaped the way I understand and teach literature. His influence will remain with me always.
