Say what you want about Biden, LBJ, Obama, Fillmore, FDR, or Carter. My hands down number one on the worst Presidents list is Woodrow Wilson.

@robert23190 @FFT1776 For the reasons you posted. The priest needs to put God and the parish first. A family would complicate things. In rare cases, some priests, however, are married.

@LangmanVince At one time he had an interesting take on things…interesting not correct. Now he has gone off the deep end and makes statements that are outrageous. However, made he is crazy as a fox, he’s raking in the $$$

Back when Chicago was great. My late mother graduated from Senn High School. Jazz great Anita O'Day and Harvey Korman were also graduated from Senn. Harvey Korman was a bit older than my mom, lived across the street, and his sister was her friend. These schools were great then. Other famous people graduated from Senn. On another note, make Illinois great again and flip it red.

Great to see Illinois’ next U.S. Senator, @JulianaStratton, at DNC HQ today! We need fighters like Juliana in the Senate—we’re all-in to help bring her to Washington this November.

Buchanan probably couldn’t stop secession outright—but he could’ve made it a lot harder. Instead of saying it was illegal but doing nothing, he could’ve reinforced federal forts, removed pro-secession officials, and made it clear leaving the Union would be treated as rebellion. That kind of action might have slowed it down or limited it.

@robert23190 @miles_commodore I’m not sure what you mean. Was there some action he could’ve taken that you feel would have averted the war it seems to me that no matter what he did the states would’ve succeeded once Lincoln was elected.

The Emancipation Proclamation was never meant to end slavery in the US, only in areas of open rebellion. It was a political move on Lincoln’s part to cripple the South’s economy and make the war a moral issue. It prevented Europe from supporting the South because it would in turn look like Britain and France supported slavery.

Slave importation had been banned since 1808. However, Clause (4) is basically saying this: the government in the Confederacy was not allowed to pass any law that would limit slavery or take away a person’s legal ownership of enslaved people. In other words, slavery wasn’t something they were planning to phase out—it was locked in as protected property under the law.

Your last comment is very controversial…lol. Historians have argued over that for 150 years. Buchanan said that succession was unconstitutional BUT the federal government could nothing about it. Mississippi explicitly said in it’s secession declaration that the “position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery.”

@robert23190 @miles_commodore That would be true only if you believe he should've prevented the federal government from over taxing the South. The war had nothing to do with slavery.

Chicago is ridden with crime, progressive taxes, Soros operatives, massive number of unvetted illegals, and a litany of other issues. That makes the DEI Dipshit known as Brandon Johnson look even more incompetent than typical after he MELTED DOWN over the Bears leaving the city. MAYBE IF YOU DID SOMETHING GOOD FOR YOUR CITY, SHIT LIKE THIS WOULDN'T HAPPEN @Brandon4Chicago.

@robert23190 @miles_commodore For what it's worth, the Civil War was happening whether we wanted it or not. The only way it could have been avoided is if the Confederacy was allowed to just happen.
