@EyaWeGew @talkwba @WestBromXtra I agree! Paying for potential at a minimal up front cost, with "add ons" is good business! I smile when some say "never heard of him!" Who'd heard of players like Koumas, Dorrens, Mulumbu, Yacob, Gera, Odemwingie, & more recently Heggem! The art is to spot them before others do!

Jimmy-Jay Morgan's deal is worth around £1.5 million upfront, potentially rising to around £3 million with add ons included. A great bit of business by the club. The deal is progressing well. #WBA @talkwba @WestBromXtra

Kylie, the presenter on @bbc5live breakfast program was very defensive when I challenged her on why they were continuing attacking @Keir_Starmer when Michael Gove, Lord Darroch & others supported Mandelson appointment & no one objected at the time, including her!

On Keith Curle’s birthday, a reminder of this cool, clinical piece of finishing at The Hawthorns. Wrong net, mind. But let’s not sweat the small stuff…

@henrywinter What I want to know is what influence he had on recruitment. My feeling was always that we had too many Lawyers making football decisions.

Good to see Tim Lewis leave Arsenal. I met him once and once was enough (probably for him, too, tbf). Very good news that Richard Garlick promoted to CEO. Represents the club well, popular with staff and actually listens to fans and their concerns, especially over ticketing #AFC

My hot take is that Dyson vacuums are not for serious vacuumers. Battery is garbage, filter is garbage. Canister too small. Absolute joke of a cleaning tool.

@chilternrailway 2nd time in 3 weeks that I’ve got to work at midday (other was 11th June). Both events caused by old trains breaking down with no contingency plan. It’s not good enough. But credit to staff who have been great on both days in challenging conditions.

@chrislepkowski He was number 1 when Palmer was injured, and he’s improved since then after a great loan. So it’s just not true to say he was “never going to be immediate No1.”

A lot of talk about gilt rates. My view is that this is not a Labour issue (though they haven't helped). Rates are rising across the board, as the market adjusts to the realisation that 2008-2021 was an anomaly, and we aren't going back to zero interest rates. Instead

Love this Aaron Ramsdale quote about being England's number two at Euro 2024: "Out of a population in England of 60 million or whatever it is, I'm living all of their dreams and then there is one man living my dream on the pitch and that one person is doing a hell of a job"

@BeanHundred @mikejpoole @elisjames It did used to happen, but not for 20 years. Yet every TV stag is the night before and they’ve never gone away for a weekend in Amsterdam 2 months before (even though that would make great telly!)

@robertgriffiths @mikejpoole @elisjames This did use to happen, not sure why it's only fairly recently that people realised it was a bad idea and had stags several weeks before the wedding instead.

I can’t think of anything that TV gets more wrong than adverts involving friends watching the football at home, usually to sell crisps, etc. Grown men watching TV with scarves on, etc

@elisjames Seriously Elis? Are we all ignoring the biggest faux pas of them all? Every Christmas dinner advert has the uncarved turkey being put on the table. DOES. NOT. HAPPEN.

@paulp_123 @danroan Unbelievable bias. Trent was awful, again. Kane scored, Foden hit the post and created a couple of chances out of nothing, Saka looked lively.

Trent the scapegoat. Created more chances than anyone else. Put in a great block for a certain goal.( shearer said he got in the way 😂 ) Kane Foden and saka were very poor and caused all the problems with us sitting so deep. Their lack of movement was shocking. As soon as Watkins eze and Bowen came in, we stretched the pitch as they tried running in behind. Just a shame we didn’t have a player that could find their runs. 🤷‍♂️
