@TEDchris Unlike Russia/Ukraine where there is clearly a villain, the Israel/Gaza/Palestine situation is much more complicated. Fueled by Israel's right-wing and ultra-religious, Palestinians have grown angry and caged over decades.

Today's events Israel and Gaza are so distressing. Are we about to see a tectonic shift in world opinion? For the past two decades, it seems to me that many independent, thoughtful people around the world have rested their main sympathy with the Palestinians who seemed to carry the brunt of the region's suffering.   But the videos of Israeli civilians being targeted at random could destroy so much of that goodwill. Today could come to be seen as the moment in which a hardline group unilaterally sabotaged the position of those inclined to support them.   After all, moral calculation doesn't just depend on comparing the body counts of innocents on each side — no doubt we’ve only seen the start of a brutal response from Israel — It also depends on who acted first, and how they acted. I’m an optimist by nature. Today, I just feel sick to my stomach.

@TEDchris Terrorism is never justified. I fear for friends and family. I support Israel, but pine for the missed opportunity of peace talks.

Yeah, they sandbagged her (and Julia to some extent). Will make it much tougher for Code to book future guests. But Linda runs one of the world's most powerful platforms -- one that must make very tough and sometimes quick decisions. Got to be able to roll w/ the punches.
