@CDNPolicyHawk My BMOQ was in all respects a mess. Fully 1/3 were ‘problems’. Two could only speak Manadarin, one of them was arrested at completion by the MPs and drummed out of the CAF.

@NavalInstitute I'm not confident that this will go well. They could have dusted off the OHP plans and had a better ship.

I saw ROTJ in the theater in 1983. I have a distinct memory of the first approach of the Rebels on the DT and that two or three X-Wings hit the shield before they could pull up in time. I have found no evidence it happened, but still I'd like an answer. starwars.com/news/jedi-at-4…

This seems to be a legit story. I haven't been in that sort of situation, the longest we ever went without restoring was 3 weeks; and even then we were getting low on decent food. The 2nd worst part about those photos is that those sailors have to pay for it. 🤮

Images of food being served to sailors on the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Tripoli, published by USA Today. Supplies "are going to get really low" and "morale is going to be at an all-time low," one sailor messaged his mother: usatoday.com/story/news/pol…

Forty years ago today, we witnessed the absolute peak of Reagan-era airpower: Operation El Dorado Canyon, the U.S. strike on Libya (April 14, 1986). Focusing purely on the military aspect, El Dorado Canyon was a logistics and endurance miracle. Denied overflight rights by European allies, 24 USAF F-111Fs and 5 EF-111s flew a massive 5,500-mile detour from the UK, circumnavigating the entire Iberian Peninsula just to reach targets in Tripoli, Libya. We’re talking 14 hours in the cockpit, radio silence, and a grueling cycle of no less than eight mid-air refuelings. It remains the longest fighter combat mission in history, proving that even in the analog era, the USAF could, if needed, project power across continents. 1/2
