Should @RW_UNP bring back the wealth tax that was abolished in 1992 after 34 years, implementation is going to be a challenge. The IRD is yet to recover some Rs. 800,000 in unpaid wealth taxes . Small amount, but big administrative headache. @advocatalk

The Central Bank has withdrawn the mandatory requirement to convert service export receipts/proceeds that are received in Sri Lanka on or after 12th of August with the view of encouraging service exporters to repatriate their export proceeds into the country.

SL Def Min has revoked and replaced the wrong list of proscribed organisations. Kamal G should have replaced Gazette 2216/37 of Feb 25, 2021, but instead revoked gazette No.1992/25 of November 9, 2016. How incompetent can you get?

Def min sec Kamal G has got it horribly wrong. His gazette 2291/02 of Aug 1, 2022 repeals & replaces a list of banned entities published on Nov 9, 2016. The Tamil organisations such as GTF he claims to delist now have been off the list since Nov 20, 2015! @RW_UNP @adaderana

This Dornier 228 surveillance aircraft of the Indian navy will be inducted to the Sri Lanka air force from August 15, 2022, a day before China's "research" vessel Yuan Wang 5 docks in at Hambantota. Indians will supervise the operation of the aircraft.
