Okay so Marathon haters...
We've gone from dead on arrival
to dead in 2 weeks
to dead in a month
then dead in 3 months
now 6 month
and here we have committing to at least a season 3 and 4, meaning a full year for a $40 game which is exactly what I said I would be happy with.
What's next? Dead in 2 years?

I saw plenty of their content around Edge of Fate and even they were defending the new system. Comments were all the same. Grinding isn't content and more. But I specifically lost it when I saw Luckyy10p in a video saying Destiny 2 didn't need a good new player experience. I remember it very clearly because even those creators videos were full of pissed off players.

Its funny when content creators say this about resources when bungie had to remove devs from marathon to work on the final shape because it wasn't good enough to ship with the lack of developers and resources. It debunks this immediately.

Marathon didn’t force Bungie to introduce Edge of Fate: a portal system, change all stats, make CALDERA, and tier all the guns 😹😹😹🪦 They completely reworked so many weapons; including my favorite one, Devil’s Ruin. And for a lot of people, Destiny kept moving further for the original core it was beloved for. They continued to ignore the community’s feedback and it kept getting worse. I feel like people on this app have rose-colored glasses when they think of Destiny. It’s not from a shift in resources, Destiny 2 is not the Destiny we loved years & YEARS ago.

A year ago with the release of Year of Prophecy??? 🤣 I personally reacted to a video by the creator of the petition where he defended lack of content, lack of exotics and even defended the terrible new player experience - Destiny 2 is too complicated and doesn't need a good new player experience. People in his comments were all calling him out. Telling him grind wasn't content. Over and over because I watched videos by all of them to see if I was going to buy it and yes I ended up buying Year of Prophecy. These content creators now begging to save Destiny 3?! There were content creators who defended content vaulting. I am blocked by the creator of the petition because I pulled up the video he did that in and he just deleted the video and blocked me. Thankfully someone reacted to his video.

I will never forget on the release of Edge of Fate the number of content creators defending the lack of content and their comments full of people calling them out. Every one of these content creators now pushing Destiny 3 were ignoring their own audience and the problems we have been calling out for years. All of them.

Destiny Creators putting their foot down to “not play” happens when d2 ends service, but didnt do it a single time before that when bad updates happened
Same narrative of “well we cant stop playing because it hurts the game/studio” is now done a 180 to punish marathon
Not to mention the grandstanding of “Bungie should hire me ill fix the game” as if the studio didnt have 200+ employees trying to battle corporate decisions everyday. People need to get a grip

Saying "it's nothing personal" but unleashing your influence to attempt to "bury" a game being worked on by devs caught up in corporate mess is irresponsible imo. All while acknowledging this could likely lead to the downfall of Bungie more-so than the revival of Destiny.

Boycotting Marathon is more likely to just collapse Bungie. The petition is a more effective vector to support a D3. But if you LIKE Marathon, you should play it.

Creators need to understand the influence they have. I too am pissed and sad about the entire D2 situation but the frustration you put out is amplified to an unhealthy level through your audience. These are Marathon developer's jobs you're playing with. It's not their fault.

@rose_arbor @MarathonTheGame Both games have their own rev stream, it's how businesses are run. It's why some products die and others live, even if they're from the same company. The business might choose to siphon funds for other projects, but a business will still consider the revenue streams separate.
