We've now had multiple reporters come out and say Swalwell's behavior was an open secret since at least 2017. So no, this is not a testament to the power of investigative reporting. If anything, it is a failure of investigative reporting. @brianstelter, I'm sorry, but this is a really bad take that suggests you might be too in love with the media you cover, and you have lost the ability to be critical of it unless it is right-wing. We've literally had local beat reporters now say this has been known since Swalwell was on a city council in 2010 and CNN reported in 2017 about a "California congressman" and never mentioned his name.
Don't be so in love with the press that you can't recognize this is a spectacular failure of investigative journalism. If the press had done its job tenaciously, a lot of women would not have been victims of Swalwell. Instead, what happened was the Democratic Party spoonfed journalists here at the end to get Swalwell out of the race.

It’s only an insincere type of religion that allows you to do these things.
It’s a hard swallow and something progressives I guess may never understand.
They think Mamdani is a Muslim even
tho he does not follow the Quran, they think Talarico is a Christian even tho he’s admitted all religions are true, and so on and so forth.
A religion has to get washed, twisted and distorted to tippy toe around the obvious ethical boundaries one is crossing.
This is what progressives do.
In the other hand, republicans in the same manner do not understand it and only use it as a weapon to pus their own views.

I personally can't stand Eric Swalwell, but the idea that EVERY DEMOCRAT would instantly renounce him, and demand he exit the race of which he's been front-runner, without doing a shred of due diligence to verify anything, just reflects an ongoing disease endemic to the party

This is definitely true.
The issue is, you have places like NY who’ve spent millions on the homeless and it has not gotten better.
It is the strategy of the left to point out how terrible the right spends its money and rightly so, just to turn around and misuse it on welfare programs that are riddled with fraud and poor performance.
There is no accountability for that. They take someone else’s money and misuse it and get angry when you ask if they should be the ones managing all this money 😂
