@KozakJon none of what the ncaa says or does will really matter until after the courts decide. someone will sue them and they will lose. basically a defunct organization. they just don’t realize it fully yet.

The NCAA released more details around 5-for-5 and they surprisingly made the cutoff date September 1. If nothing changes, that means Bo Bassett will only have 4 years of college eligibility.

@CoachSwit it’s just plan stupid and a way for coaches to say i am the Coach. How about the coaches who only do it after a loss, even worse.

I still don’t understand why some high school baseball teams run sprints after games. Must be a good reason… I just haven’t heard one yet. Thoughts?

People never think about the 17 year old college freshman having to compete against 22 and 23 year olds every day. Some college seniors are 24 and 25 now. Then when the young kid struggles physically, everybody says, “He just needs to redshirt.” 🤷‍♂️

@RedWavePress this was going on for years before NIL existed. Years and Years. Some states it’s 8th grade, some it’s 6th grade. Just depends on when the clock starts.

SHOCKING: A growing number of middle school athletes — mostly boys — are intentionally repeating 8th grade to delay their start in high school, giving themselves another full year to get bigger, stronger, and faster, which in turn dramatically boosts their chances at elite high school spots, college scholarships, and massive NIL deals potentially worth millions. William La Jeunesse: “Of 8M high school students in sports only 7% will play in college.”
“On the other hand, the [likely] number one pick in this year’s NBA draft, [AJ Dybantsa], did 8th grade twice.” CRAZY IDEA: How about we let more kids be kids!

@KeshiaClukey how do you cap correctional officer OT at 30k when you already do not have enough coverage? This will unfortunately create an unsafe environment in an already understaffed situation.

Breakdown for Tier6 changes: -teachers can retire at 58 with 30 yrs -contribution rates for (Tier 5 &6) workers, excluding teachers decrease, rate range is 3-5.75% -OT cap for police and fire increased to 25% -corrections/county sheriffs deputies get OT cap at approximately $30k
Keshia Clukey@KeshiaClukey

NY’s final state budget will sweeten retirement benefits for public workers hired after 2012, allowing teachers to retire at age 58 and other workers to contribute less toward the pension system, a source with the Hochul administration told Newsday. newsday.com/news/region-st…

@rachbarnhart YMCA memberships at the Pittsford YMCA cost between $132.50 and $182 monthly depending on the plan you subscribe to. Who is going to pay for the membership fee? Or should this just be a free and subsidized?

Listening to the YMCA CEO on WXXI. He claims city residents don’t need a nice Y like they do in Pittsford. And that the city can’t support such a Y. I’m rather horrified by this interview.

In Rochester NY~Roncone's, Antonetta's and Rocky's historically made up what had been called "The Italian Triangle" three longtime Italian restaurants in close proximity to each other. Now only one remains, Rocky’s. This is what’s left of Antonetta's Restaurant on Jay Street, now just boarded up memories of lunch with my Dad every Thursday. 😢

Iowa has picked up another from the transfer portal, this time it’s Oklahoma’s Carter Schubert. Schubert plans on competing at 165, meaning he will have the opportunity to take over Mikey Caliendo’s spot in Iowa’s lineup. He told me he also considered VT, Ohio State, and Minnesota. This past season Schubert wrestled 174 where he had wins over AAs Danny Wask, MJ Gaitan, and Cam Steed. @MatScouts1 first to report.

The very definition of consistency - Iowa buying talent developed in other rooms in the hopes that they can compete against the true Big Dogs (or, in this case, Lions and Cowboys) of the sport. As a longtime wrestling fan, it’s sad to see the once-storied program sink to this level.
Justin Basch@JustinJBasch

Well, since @MatScouts1 let the cat out of the bag early... Hawkeyes get another one! Oklahoma's Carter Schubert, who won the CKLV this year, is heading to Iowa, where he'll fill the 165lb spot.
