Comparing yourself to other runners on Strava is the fastest way to ruin running. Your easy pace is your easy pace. Your mileage is your mileage. The only comparison that matters is you versus you 6 months ago. Are you more consistent? Are you healthier? Are you faster? That’s all that counts.

Making it look easy, to say the least 😅 In her first 800m action since setting the indoor world record last month, Keely Hodgkinson 🇬🇧 cruises to a heat win during the prelims at the World Indoor Championships, crossing the line in 2:00.32, nearly a second ahead of her next closest competitor. Hodgkinson advances as the sixth-fastest qualifier, while Eloisa Coiro 🇮🇹 runs the fastest prelim time in 1:59.87.

Doing what he does best 😤 Christopher Morales Williams 🇨🇦, the fastest man in world history over the indoor 400m, made short work of the 400m prelims at the World Indoor Championships, winning his heat in 45.51. Morales-Williams moves to the semis with the fastest time by .38 seconds. Tomáš Horák 🇨🇿 and Attila Molnár 🇭🇺 were the only other men to break 46 seconds in the prelims, while Americans Khaleb McRae and Chris Robinson both collected heat wins.

Did you know your daily cup of tea might be quietly protecting your arteries? A 2022 study in Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology followed 881 women over age 75 and found something striking: Those who drank 2–6 cups of black tea daily had 16–42% lower odds of severe abdominal aortic calcification (AAC). That matters because AAC strongly predicts heart attack, stroke, and even dementia. So, what’s doing the heavy lifting? Flavonoids. About 76% of the flavonoids in the study came from black tea, and higher intake was linked to 36–39% lower odds of severe calcification. Interestingly, flavonoids from other foods showed similar benefits. Mechanistically, this makes sense. Black tea contains theaflavins and flavan‑3‑ols, compounds known to: 1.Reduce inflammation by calming NF‑κB signaling 2.Lower oxidative stress (ROS) 3.Improve endothelial function, which helps prevent vascular calcification In other words, the same pathways that damage arteries are the ones tea helps dial down. And the best part? This isn’t some complicated protocol. It’s a simple daily ritual. #HeartHealth #TeaBenefits Reference: Parmenter BH, Bondonno CP, Murray K, Schousboe JT, Croft K, Prince RL, Hodgson JM, Bondonno NP, Lewis JR. Higher Habitual Dietary Flavonoid Intake Associates With Less Extensive Abdominal Aortic Calcification in a Cohort of Older Women. my first "running friend" in portland was a girl i raced against in college. we ran into each other at the local track a year later and decided to "runch" aka run over our lunchtimes when possible. she quickly became one of those lifetime friends. she was actually the one who called me the night before my first marathon to say my goal wasn’t good enough, i could go sub 3… and i did! friends who push you to be your best are the best kind!! anyways, she moved away but was in town today and we met for our classic runch and the cherry blossoms have bloomed! the sun was out again! life is good 🌸✨

Ever feel like slow walking is "not enough"? Think again! It gently benefits your heart, tones legs/core, boosts circulation, sharpens balance. Plus, it fires up ~29 muscles in EACH foot for better stability & mindful movement. All low-impact, super joint-friendly. Why rush? Slow down to level up your health. One of my favorite places to slow walk is in the woods. How about you? #MindfulMovement #EveryStepCounts
