As of today all of MGH GI Surgery is using this tool, and we're expanding to cover other surgical specialties across all of Mass General Brigham! We're hopeful this work can act as a framework for how we can realistically use AI to focus resources to our sickest patients.

Two weeks ago, I helped lead a new pain medicine didactic at @harvardmed where we brought the @BostonChildrens Hospital Pediatric Pain Clinic to teach about interdisciplinary pediatric pain care.

We had 4 people with lived experiences share their stories, and over 20 providers across pain medicine, PT, OT, and psychology! Students got to see how each specialty contributed to the pain management plan, and what a truly interdisciplinary team looks like in medicine.

Very unfortunate to see this happening at Harvard! But, at least it shows that NIH is still trying to work for the better. Side note: congratulations on the fellowship, well deserved!

Overall I'm still proud of my work, and grateful for every single person around me who helped make this F30 happen. Even if I never see the actual award, this process gave me the chance to see just how many people are pushing me forward and that at least was worth it.

But to see the current political landscape so willing to throw away a career dedicate to people's health has made me question a lot of what I do these days. And I can only imagine what it must feel like to be in labs directly impacted by the grant cuts.

It was absolutely surreal to see the NOA for my NIH F30 grant in my inbox. Not just because it took up months of my life (and definitely years off my lifespan), but because it may not even matter because of the NIH funding block with Harvard.
