The Book of Mormon has survived scholars, skeptics, preachers, ex-Mormons, angry threads, and internet mobs. It’s still standing.

@VigilantFox Something is wrong with me... I'm beginning to like Bill Maher. He's apparently the only sensible liberal.

Bill Maher asks Ana Kasparian which Middle Eastern country she would feel comfortable wearing “that dress” and then this happened. MAHER: “If you had to live in the Middle East. Any city. Where would you live where you’d be comfortable in that dress?” ANA: “I’m sure I would not be comfortable in this dress in any of the various Middle Eastern countries that have been destabilized by—” MAHER INTERRUPTS: “Really? You’re not really blaming it on whitey, are you? You’re blaming Islam on whitey?” ANA: “I’m not blaming Islam on whitey.” MAHER: “But what you’re saying is we destabilize? That’s why you can’t wear that dress?” ANA: “Did we destabilize?” MAHER: “Wait a second.” ANA: “We were funding terrorist organizations in Syria during the Syrian civil war starting under the Obama administration.” MAHER: “We’re talking about your dress.” ANA: “It looks good, I know.” MAHER: “You’re saying you can’t wear that dress in Syria because of whitey destabilizing?” ANA: “I didn’t say that.” MAHER: “Okay, that’s what it sounded like… When I asked about the dress, you went right to destabilize. So is that why you couldn’t wear that dress?” ANA: “You want me to talk about jihadism and Islam.” MAHER: “Why won’t you? Why won’t you?” ANA: “I don’t believe in jihadism, which is why I’m furious the United States just had significant Al Qaeda terrorists in the White House.” MAHER: “But it’s not just jihadism that is preventing you from wearing that dress there. Are you saying every Muslim is a jihadist? I don’t think they are.” ANA: “Bill. Bill, Bill, Bill. Let’s focus for a second.” MAHER: “No, you won’t answer this question.”

@ksorbs Not true. Polling data from @Peoples_Pundit shows the new people tend to vote more conservative than the natives. These are conservatives fleeing liberal shitholes, not liberals fleeing the consequences of their own policies.

The more I read the Bible, the more certain I am the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It’s clear and simple and direct and straightforward. If you read it with a sincere heart, an open mind and real intent, you will see Christ’s teachings in it. I KNOW THIS IS TRUE.

@LibOrNormal That is horrific, but I still nominate anything by UB40 as worse than that, especially that "Can't Help Falling In Love" monstrosity.

Republicans in Utah are following a reckless national trend of using ‘election security’ as a pretext to make it harder for citizens to vote. Proof-of-citizenship rules and stricter registration requirements won't solve nonexistent problems - they only risk disenfranchising eligible Utahns.

The Trump-backed SAVE Act appears all but doomed in the Senate. But these states are making moves to enact their own stricter requirements. time.com/article/2026/0…

Dear @MLB... The Utah market has a total of like 11 combined fans of the Rockies and the Diamondbacks. Please stop considering this state part of the blackout areas for BOTH teams so that we can watch all of the baseball teams we actually do care about. Thanks, bye.

@cheesefries73 I'm noticing you didn't include the exact question you asked. So what was it? "which Big 12 school has been worst for bad behavior among its athletes"? That it?

@cheesefries73 I tried what was in quotes, Grok said "Baylor University stands out as the Big 12 school with the most notorious and systemic issues involving bad behavior among its athletes, particularly in football." I guess Grok changed its mind?

There will be less discussion on topics. Less in-depth conversion. Less questions. Less opportunity for the Boomer to talk about Adam God. Less opportunity for people like me to ask a more difficult question. Less time to meditate on things. More surface-level.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints@Ch_JesusChrist

In advance of the upcoming general conference leadership session (April 2, 2026), The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced upcoming adjustments to the Sunday class meeting schedule to support members in their efforts to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. The adjustments will strengthen gospel learning in homes and congregations throughout the world. Beginning September 6, 2026, the alternating weekly schedule for Sunday School and quorum or class meetings will be replaced. Under the updated schedule: • Sunday School, Relief Society, elders quorum, Young Women and Aaronic Priesthood quorum meetings will be held each week. • Sacrament meeting will continue to be 60 minutes, followed by brief transition periods. • Sunday School and quorum and class meetings will each be 25 minutes. • Primary will continue every Sunday and will be 55 minutes, held while adults and youth attend their respective classes. • Where local circumstances necessitate, units may begin with Primary and quorum and class meetings and conclude with sacrament meeting. The TV and film industry is so bad these days that I am hesitant to watch anything new. Cussing, fornication, drinking, drugs... they are too common these days. The Savior warns that the wicked will be burned by fire before he returns. I'm beginning to think those fires will begin on the sets of some of these movies and shows.
