This is hands down the most spineless take currently in football. “Do you want Chelsea to lose so Arsenal MIGHT NOT win the league?” If that’s even a question for you, just admit you care more about Arsenal than your own club. Just stop supporting Chelsea and hate watch Arsenal every week. I say this as a guy who had two VERY annoying best friends and we watched before the money and they'd rub it in every day of the week and twice on Sunday’s. Wanting your own team to lose is pathetic. Full stop. There’s no nuance, no “but technically…” It’s a loser mentality. You don’t support Chelsea on conditions. You don’t support Chelsea “unless Arsenal benefit.” You support Chelsea. Or you don’t. We have something to gain from winning today. If this was a dead rubber game, I could sort of understand it, but we’re trying to be something again and you don’t get that in the Europa League. If you’re sat there thinking you’d celebrate a loss just to spite a rival, you’ve completely lost the plot. That’s not rivalry. That’s insecurity. If you support Chelsea and you’re rooting for Chelsea to lose, you’re not a Chelsea fan. You’re an Arsenal fan with commitment issues. #CFC

@CFCRobL I think the intention is to be public. Club trying to give impression that the model isn’t completely rigid given the dissatisfaction amongst the fanbase, even when the reality is they’re very unlikely to break from it. They know they can enquiry, and it go no where.

My only gripe with these situations is stop being so public - it's absolutely fine to enquire about a player even if you are comfortable with your options (both can be true) Every chance the 'leaks' are from the DL/Juve side but this pattern to far too frequent to be coincidence

@siphillipssport They're a private equity firm. They want the club to be profitable so they can sell it for a higher value compared to when they bought it. That's their number one priority, with everything else secondary. It's literally their job, and they're fooling no one.

While cynics argue the Chelsea model is little more than a player-trading scheme driven by profit, the hierarchy would point out that an era of greater financial regulation requires long-term thinking. Longer contracts mean Chelsea’s wage bill is lower when portioned on balance sheets per year, plus younger signings - the right ones at least - hold their market value for longer. This is how every club operates. Any Chelsea fan arguing a club should give up control to a coach needs to get in the real world. Everyone from Real to Liverpool prioritises club strategy over a coach that can be swapped out. The only exception is Pep after a decade of winning.

Any fan backing Maresca whilst watching him destabilise the club and hurt the team needs to wake up. This isn’t peak Jose who is forcing fans to make a difficult choice over who to support. Maresca is a nobody from the Championship. It really is ok to move on from him.
