The roof is going to be closed for the entire World Cup because grass nerds said so is how I read this. Brutal. The average person wouldn't notice any of the variables on the field. Now, BC Place in June/July could be a sweat box for the biggest sporting event on the planet.

My best friend group from college is in wildly different stages of life right now: Friend 1 — married, 3 kids. Never hear from him but twice a year he pops out and blacks out like he did in college. Great father I’m sure. Lives in suburbs. Friend 2 — most single person alive. 30 years old, slept with a 21 year old last weekend. Low key depressed. He still lives in nyc in a shoebox studio. Friend 3 — he’s in long term relationship. You can tell marriage is coming… you can also tell they hate each other. Friend 4 — moved to California, does mushrooms daily and drops into the group chat once a week to say the most unhinged philosophical take imaginable. Friend 5 — full passport bro. With a girl who barely speaks English every night somewhere in Southeast Asia. Friend 6 — might literally be in jail. Haven’t heard from him in 5 years. No social media. Honestly… might text him tonight.

Airport observation: Who are people talking to for 30 mins to an hour at a time on the phone , fairly loudly so everyone can hear ? And I’m not talking about a peacocking business call. I’ve eavesdropped on many people just yapping away about nonsense with no end in sight. After about 7 minutes on the phone with my own goddamn wife were both usually like “alright then ….”
