@stephenehorn Reminder that in the OTHER Somali N-word scandal, the Somalis first said "I'm gonna knock you out... You better fear for your life."

SCOTUS has previously overturned a "breach of the peace" statute on the basis that the following is protected speech: "White son of a bitch, I'll kill you." "You son of a bitch, I'll choke you to death." "You son of a bitch, if you ever put your hands on me again, I'll cut you all to pieces" In comparison, Shiloh Hendrix was practically an angel towards the thieving Somalis

@KaitlinInglesby basically no one in the men's game, that is faster and involves harder hits, wears face protection. Either they are in denial or the women's game is overly protective. I'm sorry you almost died, but it can't be that the legions of women wearing face guards did or will

Can NCAA softball announcers please stop using their platform to bash face masks? Your job is to objectively analyze the game, not insert an irrelevant opinion on player safety. Sincerely someone who almost died taking a ball to the face 🥎🤫

@TheJeffPutnam Yup. I was put on SSRIs as a teen because I was depressed… because I was being bullied and had been since elementary school.

@MrPitbull07 You post as though those employers are literally the only options. That’s a bad deal but he is able to choose where to work. This is not the system but it is a possibility. He has freedom to move to another job.

My neighbor works 65 hours a week. He is exhausted. He works 25 hours at a grocery store. He works 20 hours at a warehouse. He works 20 hours at a fast-food joint. He has zero health insurance. Zero 401k. Zero paid sick leave. Why? Because every single employer caps him at "part-time" hours specifically to avoid legally having to provide benefits. He works harder than anyone I know, but on paper, he doesn't "work enough" to deserve a doctor.

Anti-AI is anti-Indie dev. They demand that tiny devs take out loans or rely on volunteers (thus entering development hell, just look at Skywind) to get people to do every little task such as checking English text written by an ESL. This thoughtless mob needs to be universally disregarded.

@saamtf @Messerschmied14 If you look at the first wave of popular indie games (braid, fez, i wanna be the guy, early Minecraft) they were far simpler than what people can do today.

@humantransit I don't understand why they boast about how many riders they surveyed. 2,300 random subway riders aren't going to know anything about material science or budgets or anything of importance in selecting the type of seat cover.

Cloth seats on rapid transit, common in US systems developed in the late 20th century, are a great example of elite projection. Designed to look nice to imagined "choice riders", they were too expensive to clean and maintain. 1/

Rider feedback → real changes. 2,300+ passengers helped inform our decision to replace cloth seats with vinyl on Link trains—rated higher for cleanliness, comfort, and satisfaction. More vinyl seats are rolling out over the coming months. 🚆 Read more: ow.ly/e6YB50XWgK0

Yes government welfare schemes, social organisations and enforcement of min wages can help. But generosity from this family sounds like liberal idealism rather than systematic solution to the problem. There is no way to know how much is enough. Family can atmost get social worker get involved in this matter.

I wonder if Cameron will include this fact: The planned invasion of Japan was going to be so catastrophic that the War Department ordered 1.5 Million Purple Heart medals. So many, that they were still issuing medals from that batch all the way up to last year. The toll of Hiroshima and Nagasaki can only be fully accounted for against what would have been an order of magnitude more destruction and death from the alternative path.

James Cameron confirms ‘GHOSTS OF HIROSHIMA’ will be his next non-Avatar film. “I want to do for what happened at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, what Steven Spielberg did with the Holocaust and D-Day with ‘Saving Private Ryan.'”

@FedPoasting The overwhelming majority of "native american culture" is entirely manufactured. The same with "wicca" and most paganism, like Norse mythology (as a religion). It's mostly lost and recreated much more recently.

By the way, this dance bears virtually no resemblance to historical native dances and is basically just hip hop and other modern dance styles with feathers. A lot of the resurgence of “traditional” cultural practices and movements of minority groups originate from the 60s and they were recapitulated for political motivations and emotional blackmail. The 1960s ushered in a “retvrn” movement for non-whites that served as the vehicle for white demoralization. It served as the leverage needed to frame “white culture” as containing within it the antithesis of authenticity and character and as only possessing the essence of violence and oppression: “hey look at all of these beautiful cultures with all this vibrancy that you and your oppressive Christian ilk lack.” Predictably, the “retvrn” movements only ever revive the endearing happy feather dances and never make mention of the scalping, perpetual tribal conflict, rapes, murders, human sacrifices, and when they are brought up, they coyly and falsely try to claim that before the white man came and taught the non-whites violence and evil, humanity was basically in an Edenic like state, and any claim to the contrary of “natives lived in peace like harmony,” is framed as post hoc narrativization by the white colonizers which must be “reexamined” and “critiqued from new perspectives and other ways of knowing.” It’s all just one big, fat, f*cking grift.
