Recent discourse made me realize I don’t know what a BBL is (aside from some sort of cosmetic thing?) and at this point I’m afraid to ask Wrong answers only please 🙏🏻

I was at a high school career day yesterday, answering questions about working in the financial industry. I had displays should how much money they could make, in the millions. My table got very few folks asking questions. All the guys were at the Army booth doing push-ups. The girls were at the “summer camp counselor” tables. Nobody was seriously thinking about their career or money.

One of my "hotter" takes on this subject is every high school could implement this tomorrow, and it wouldn't make a big difference. 99% of 14-18 year olds don't care about money. They care about dating, friends, making varsity, and getting As & Bs so mom/dad don't yell at them.

Probably not. Honestly I get the sense that many younger posters on here don't *have* a father. Or they may have been estranged from an early age. We talk about "fatherless" behavior in women, but there is an equally clear version in males.

@Romy_Holland Well that sucks. I hope things change and family get together be some valuable and sought after. As someone you comes from a large family that vacations together annually for over 50 years…when it’s working it’s wonderful.

i am hitting a wall with this lame anti-vacation i’m on rn. a lot of things went wrong to mess up this trip, but between this and my family xmas debacle im just having trouble imagining ever wanting to waste vacations on family trips again. i feel like we’re going way out of our way to bring our baby to meet ppl and our families just don’t care that much. my kid won’t be old enough to remember interactions w these ppl for 4-5 years, so i guess we can reconsider after that point but even then i’m not convinced it’s that important. i didn’t know a bunch of my extended family growing up and i don’t actually care.

@samlowen5105 Bringing back dead actors is one thing, but I'm personally in favor of living actors signing off on AI uses for film projects. When you consider the possibilities that it opens up, I think it's bound to happen given the nature of the industry right now.

I think stuff like this feeds nostalgia and that’s a bad thing. I think we are better off letting people die and moving on.

The craziest thing about Newsom's $100 million wildlife bridge is that it will allow cougars, an apex predator, direct access into a suburban neighborhood filled with pets, children, and the elderly. It's like the radical environmentalist version of The Purge.

There is a family of cougars that passes by my home multiple times a month on their way to the river. They are tracked and part of an ongoing study. There hasn’t been an incident between humans and cougars here since the 1980’s. Yes, a few furry friends get eaten but overall we live just fine next to an apex predator.

@christopherrufo You mean the purpose of the bridge isn't to entice cougars into a space where they can be efficiently eliminated by animal control? If that's not its purpose, what is its purpose?
