Big Bang Theory portrays a waitress and physicists as neighbours because it’s blind to class. In India, class is deeply intertwined with caste. So not only would the waitress be living elsewhere, it’s far less likely she’d ever become friends with physicists, let alone date one.

But from 2012 till 2024, they invested zero R&D dollars in pure AI research and productization, content with their low cost IT outsourcing models.
All these IT bosses, called visionaries, displayed exactly zero vision. Their dinosaur brains were stuck on 70 hrs workweeks. Not innovation. Anyone who boldly wanted to make it happen, was fired and removed. (Sikka)

Net result - India is now the consumer playground of US AI majors and open source Chinese ones. Minor Indian resistance here and there. But no big league world beating game. Yes they'll adapt and all that, but you know what that means.

I have known Ram Madhav since his early days as an RSS man on Barkha Dutt’s shows. He used to be a regular on talk shows and news debates. At that time, I was a huge RSS/BJP fan, but since the BJP was in the opposition, I used to pull my hair out because he was so submissive, defensive, and always had stupid takes. He used to get mocked and insulted by NDTV and other English news channels, but he was always on the shows without any regret. I don’t know what the BJP leadership sees in him. I hope the BJP asks him to sit at home because he has just been too embarrassing.

Mehdi gives the impression that 1) it is only the right-wing who spew venom against, and 2) it is the first time Hindus/Indians have faced this in the US. But in reality, it is the academic and political left-wing that has mainstreamed anti-Hindu hate both inside the classrooms, and in popular discourse in media. Had the leftwing not pushed the Hindus against wall, they would have remained a loyal foot soldier of the Democrats.

A woman is allegedly seen losing her cool on Maharashtra cabinet minister Girish Mahajan, over the traffic snarl caused by the BJP morcha in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. This was during a protest march on the issue of the Women's Reservation Bill. She was heard asking the minister to protest on a ground, and not hold up the traffic by marching on the streets. The opposition hit out at the BJP while appreciating the woman.

I am generalising, but lot of NRI families in the US try a lot to keep their next generation rooted in dharmic values. I have seen many parents send their kids to shloka school, Bhagavad Gita classes, Bharata Natyam and so on. In North Carolina I saw many families meet up every Friday in their homes (taking turns) to group recite Vishnu Sahasranamam. The kids would join in too. I am not suggesting that it happens in all families and the reverse is true in India but the effort to not completely cut off roots is much more when living abroad, I guess.
