Most likely he did have a ghostwriter. The events he mentions are often paired with public events which can be verified and even quoted. He gets those correct that I have found. Kushner does not have an "official" title with the Admin this term, but was chosen to be on the Board of Peace. Not sure how that figures into the equation, but you make valid points as to why the visits to Russia. I have not kept up with him too much bc he really stays out of the news here. In regards to the name, he may be trying to use a less formal way to talk bc of his relationship?
