For decades, Ethiopia has defined African coffee on the global stage. But the rankings have shifted. In the twelve months to October 2025, Uganda exported 8.4 million bags of coffee, making it Africa’s largest coffee exporter by volume. (UCDA, Nov 2024 – Oct 2025) That’s not a small change. It reflects a broader transformation underway in the continent’s coffee trade: • Large-scale expansion of robusta production • Strong export infrastructure and policy support • Rising global demand for blend-grade coffee • Increasing investment across the value chain Uganda is no longer just an important origin; it is becoming a structural anchor of African coffee supply. And this shift matters for buyers, roasters, and exporters alike. As volumes grow and trade corridors strengthen, the global coffee map is being quietly redrawn. #Trade #Coffee #Fluna
