Mariana Minerals CEO @tbc415 and Galadyne CEO @_chandlerl say one of the most important lessons they took from Tesla and SpaceX was the value of flat organizations: Turner: "You need information to flow as quickly as possible." "You need to democratize access to information, and that's really the purpose of flat organizations. If you do flat organizations wrong, it can get chaotic." "Any junior engineer should be able to go to any senior member of any executive team at any point in time, and talk directly to folks that are making decisions—as well as collaborate with teams that are within the company—without having to funnel information through managers and then back down into their teams." Chandler: "Another part of making that successful, at least from my experience, is—you need leaders across that flat org that are able to make decisions really quickly." "If you have a junior engineer who's just now starting out at SpaceX or Tesla and they're worrying themselves like, 'I'm making this crazy big decision. It's going to cost hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars. What if I mess up?' If a leader can come in and remove that concern from the junior engineer's mind by just making the decision and saying, 'Go,' then you go way, way faster." With @espricewright

Silicon Valley thinks AI agents are a $20/mo self-serve subscription. Main Street is paying local agencies $10,000 just to turn them on. Everyone assumes AI will be bought primarily online like Slack or Zoom. I think they are wrong. Some of the biggest winners in the AI boom won't be the software vendors. It will be the humans installing it. Here is the reality of SMBs right now: • 54% lack internal AI expertise. • 41% have data quality too poor for AI to even work. • 41% already prefer buying AI through a local IT provider. You cannot "1-click install" a genius AI into a messy CRM or a 15-year-old server. It will just execute the wrong tasks at the speed of light. The AI software will be cheap and a lot will absolutely be bought online. Making it actually work for a messy, real-world business will be expensive. Very bullish on the "Do It For Me" economy being back.
