A lot of people think I’m wasting my time challenging the World Naked Bike Ride. I don’t see that I am. Every safeguarding concern raised makes it harder for people to say they did not know…. And when a so-called peaceful protest is surrounded by insults, aggression and a refusal to engage, the contradiction becomes impossible to ignore. I know cyclists. I know nudists. I know body empowerment activists and environmental campaigners. Many of them are thoughtful, calm and willing to have proper conversations. Many understand that my campaign is about safeguarding, not hostility. That is the point. If safeguarding concerns are dismissed, minimised or mocked, the problem does not go away. It grows.
