Surely someone has built this: Where’s the API that is connected to all of the AI providers and lets me charge per token with a markup?

Last night I spent like 10 min trying to get a monthly cost estimate for a Mac Mini on AWS (I'll save you the time....it's better just to buy) Compare that with aipricingcalculators.com (built by a Stripe user!) that is very easy to use to estimate LLM costs 👌 highly recommend

We renamed github.com/stripe/agent-t… to github.com/stripe/ai to be our open source home to power AI developers. Explore resources for building agents (like MCP and the Agent toolkit), monetizing products, and optimizing your Stripe integrations.

I feel very strongly that AI products that don't charge per token are inherently misaligned with users. Stripe made this is incredibly easy to setup

You set up whatever extra % you want in your Stripe dashboard, turn on the integration in your OpenRouter dashboard, then make a one-line code change (add your Stripe customer ID to the API call) and the Stripe <> OpenRouter integration handles everything else for you

@jeff_weinstein @stripe I did this with @supabase but I hate the fact, that model providers do not provide actual cost of prompt and completion with the tokens, because then you would not need to keep up with model prizing, if it was handled by model providers 🤔

.@stripe is building a way for developers to completely automate billing for tokens: 1/ pick model (e.g. openai o3, claude sonnet 4, gemini 1.5 flash, etc) 2/ set margin (e.g. charge +10% over inference) 3/ add two lines of code to your app want to try it? jweinstein@stripe.com
