Love or hate Harris. You can’t deny that she was right about EVERYTHING

The Pick is In. In my mock, Thicc Caserio* of the #Texans chooses: Christen Miller, DT, Georgia. This is what the board looked like, and here is the thinking: + A number of locals suggested this, and the Draft Tracker collecting info by @TexansCommenter + @Texans_Thoughts suggested this is as a SWARM choice. What a great fan built website, makes me think of the old @HoustonDiehards days: houstonstressans.com/2026draft + At this point in the draft, there's lots of similarly graded players, so it is a matter of roster composition and whether you want to add a specific guy into the building + Miller would be a fun guy to see matched with the rest of that line, coaching staff. S.W.A.R.M. + Really like a lot of players projected in 2nd/3rd. Lots of temptations to move if you want a specific guy, like a specific TE. I like a lot of the guys in the TE room currently but I think they would be able to do more with the offense with more competition/health/body types in that room. Can't have one guy go down and your scheme can't function, or have to rely on extra lineman to challenge teams. Like my view of the Texans offense by the end of the year is that they knew their challenges, were trying to push through. They had to training wheel some things because of roster/personnel/injury issues, and could do a lot of that because the defense was so good. I know various fans get mad about this or that with the offense but I will tell you that this coaching staff is very sentient. They aren't gonna throw their guys under the bus publicly because they are pros and not bleepholes, but man they were young at key spots that the league offense punishes young at. I was very impressed with how Ersery handled himself last year with the extremely ambitious way to develop him. There's no one way to develop young offensive lineman and experience is the harshest teacher. Some of the choices the Texans have made to transition the offense have short term issues (getting the offensive line to make sense financially and with scheme, everybody getting on the same page, more challenging in some aspects), but the long term view is they are trying to build the offense so it can withstand the entire season and playoffs (flexibility with offensive linemen, being able to win with a backups if necessary, having skill positions that can bring different things to the table and step up, better equipped to challenge weaknesses in opposing offenses from game to game). Last year was hard because the offense was young at a lot of key spots. I don't know how well they will do in 2026, but having more of the offense feeling comfortable with what they are running makes a difference, particularly when all the teams are very cross-polinated offensively, and sometimes opponents know your offense better than you do. That's a lot of words to say I am looking for difference making, all the tools TEs and RBs in the draft. I like the pick positions coming up for the Texans, but I can *feel* the pressure that if you like a particular guy, you best move around and get him. + Next picks in the No Trades Mock are 59 and 69, which is a nice homage to our freeways HA * I've decided that I am going to be Thicc Caserio for this draft. If I was as lean and fit as Nick, I would be killing people because I would be so hungry. Low body fat me is no fun to be around to myself or other people.** I am not particularly Thicc but maybe I am by Nick and TV standards heh. ** We live in a relevant HOU sports era. Take care of yourself in the specific ways you need to. This is a good time of year to get all your health, personal, financial bidness handled like a champ.*** You may not be as busy as Nick Caserio, but definitely do all the things you need to do to fully enjoy our sports. *** And if you are having hard times right now, I hope the sports and the moon take your mind to more gentle places. Know this is sort of heavy for a mock draft post but I am feeling very sentimental these days for a lot of past, present, future Texans here and across the globe and into space. Hope to see you if I do, per usual, I will be easy to find at the Texans Draft Party 😎🙌

#Texans HC DeMeco Ryans thinks Kris Abrams-Draine hit on CJ Stroud’s slide was “unnecessary roughness.” “He hit the quarterback when he sliding and giving himself up. If I'm incorrect on the rules, I've seen that happen multiple times with our guys, and we get the penalty.”
