@TheEngineerXC @LaticsJosie They've had a couple of guys canvassing on Market Street in Hindley this afternoon. x.com/i/status/20589…
JARDINE@oJARDINEo

Canvassing for @RestoreBritain_ in Makerfield. Bumped into this nice gentleman who called @RupertLowe10 & the party “fascists.” I asked who he supported, he said Andy Burnham. The same guy who stayed silent on the Pakistani Muslim grooming gangs scandal in Greater Manchester. All for the sake of votes.

@LaticsJosie Restore support is primarily social media - influenced by viral posts and bots. It doesn't translate to electoral reality, people will come to realize this eventually.

I live in Makerfield as does my extended family. Not one of us has had a leaflet from Restore let alone a knock on the door. I’ve also not seen a single house with a Restore sign. Bryn Community Club meetings attracted two dozen (largely the same) canvassers all last week.

@sickoflibbullsh @AmericanFemnst Its not though. We did this in the UK. We didnt even have min wage until 99. I were 17 earning £120 a week. Had a 1.1 cinqucento sporting. Petrol was 59p a litre. Town was booming. Happy hours everywhere. £1 a bottle. Mitsubishis were a 5er. The young car culture was huge in 90s

This person is being paid to sow division between the generations. On it's face, it makes no sense unless you were filthy rich. In the 90's, minimum wage was around $4.50 - $5.00 /hr. Assuming this person was around 18 years old, with no real skills, that's what he'd make. So at $5.00/hr, if he worked 20 hrs part time, that's $100. Subtract $20 in taxes. With $80, you did not do all of those things. That means that your parents were also subsidizing this fantasy lifestyle. Which some may have, but most did not, could not afford to do. Particularly when most people had 3, 4, 5 children. It's a LIE.

When I was a teenager in the 90s, everyone had a car and we “cruised” for fun and never worried about gas. We ate fast food and went on dates at restaurants multiple times a week. We went to concerts and raves and bought name brand clothing at the mall. We worked part time and always had extra money. Our parents owned nice houses, worked ordinary jobs, and took us on vacation at least once a year. I feel sorry for Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

@tomhfh Ah, I remember being at college in 1995 and working at Morrisons. £1.94 an hour. I used to get more of my old man for doing the hoovering and washing his car. Halcyon days. Not. It was fucking shite.

Makerfield locals point out that Andy Burnham comes from a posh background - ie your usual champagne socialist.🤨 'I might have been born in a council house but I'm not stupid,' says Enid. 'He is obviously not from round here. Where he's from – where he grew up – is posh.' dailymail.com/news/article-1…

NEW: NIGEL FARAGE PROMISES TO SCRAP TAX ON OVERTIME IF ELECTED PM If Reform UK wins the next general election, people who earn less than £75,000 and work overtime above a 40-hour week will pay no income tax on the extra hours. Similar to Trump's 'no tax on tips' policy

Many are asking if Reform’s new policy of NO TAX on overtime applies to those working 2nd jobs: YES, so long as total income is below £75k!

🚨Important policy announcement: Britain was built on the hard graft of people who go the extra mile. A Reform government will ABOLISH income tax on hours worked beyond 40 hours a week, for incomes below £75,000 a year. It’s time to REWARD hard work, not punish it! 🇬🇧

@Gavtaraysin @EssexPR @fredgs05 He's on about cutting £90 billion from the Welfare state, scrapping minimum wage and paying some random island somewhere so we can process boat people there! People in low income areas are going to be fucked over big time. Its hilarious watching them proudly shout Reform.

@RobKenyonReform Do you want to drop minimum wage? You're about to go around Platt Bridge and Hindley and tell people £12 and hour is to much to pay someone? £20k a year is too much for a years work? Good luck with that 👍

Angry Andy is not a popular man in Platt Bridge or Hindley… Believe it or don’t believe it, but by all accounts, he isn’t as popular as he reckons in Ashton too. Our @RobKenyonReform is well liked. All to play for. Remember, this place elected RK a fortnight ago! #VoteReform

@MarkStretford @dereksmith15212 @RobKenyonReform Reforms full of career politicians though. Im from Hindley. I'll be voting Burnham. A guy who was Leigh MP for 16 yrs. GM Mayor. Burnham lives in Golbourne. He's local. There's a chance for our local MP to be PM. Instead of another Southern London-centric PM if I vote Reform

@dereksmith15212 @RobKenyonReform Says Derek the bot hiding behind his account... Yawn, get a red violin, nobody cares. People want a real, genuine person to represent them, someone who actually cares about and understands the place. Not a career politician. Have a nice day.
