Broken politics in Westminster. Broken politics in Stormont. This is why the case for democratic renewal through political reform has never been stronger. Here's what we'd do to fix it. 👇

Turning Up, Standing Up and Representing for EVERYONE in Northern Ireland as YOUR deputy First Minister - an equal and joint role, legally and constitutionally. When some are routinely absent, just AWOL, or continuously focused on dismantling and narrow political agendas, I along with your DUP Ministers and team turn up, stand up and champion Northern Ireland. Consistently, strongly and unapologetically pro Northern Ireland. When others talk, I show by action and by my presence. Should that be at the highest levels politically, for our important investments, announcements, and issues. Advocating for our businesses, sectors, arts and sport. Championing Northern Ireland. Turning up matters. Standing up for Northern Ireland matters. Speaking up for our sectors, our sports, for investment opportunities - it matters. I count it as a huge honour and responsibility to serve as your deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland. I will never take that for granted or shy away from doing all I can. Let us be absolutely clear - I do so in a co-equal role. This is legally and constitutionally clear, as inconvenient as it may be to some. When Michelle O'Neill was deputy First Minister, she and her party referred to her as the Joint First Minister. Something they now seek to ignore for political convenience. I have never focussed on titles but on the job I am there to do - but I will not allow others to diminish the constitutional realities nor the role. The message of the elections across Great Britain is actually one about people demanding delivery. While DUP Ministers have been pushing ahead with ambition and drive, actually getting things done, others seek to spin and blame others for their failings. When some nationalists across the UK seek to unite to pull apart the Union, seeking huge disruptive and destructive constitutional change - what the people actually want is strong leadership that improves lives. Look at the votes - there is no mandate for nationalist independence. The big message was one of getting on with the work,, common sense politics and successes for the people we serve, not spin. So let's get on with it - driving down those health waiting lists, public service reform and improvements, growing the economy in Northern Ireland (not losing jobs through boycotts and political showboating). I believe in strong, passionate and positive representation. I am determined - the DUP team is determined 💪

The most reprehensible quisling Government in the history of the United Kingdom is being wiped out. Not even defeated, but routed. Reform is sweeping through every corner of the Kingdom. If this is replicated at General election then the significance for unionism should not be underestimated. It is a once in a generational opportunity to really change things. It is a chance to balance the Belfast Agreement, and most of all to completely eradicate the Union-subjugating Protocol Framework, restoring NI to the UK & putting the border where it belongs: between NI & ROI. There is no time to waste; unionism must begin formulating those policy positions now & ensuring Reform understand them & are willing to implement such changes almost immediately upon sweeping to power.

Yesterday I was back with the women of HERstory in Londonderry where the subject was our 1st female PM - Margaret Thatcher. We had a great discussion about her legacy and how her leadership style evolved. Thank you for the engagement #womeninleadership

As a proud protestant Unionist, I make sure that even my holidays are staunch! Great to see such a wonderful portrait of Her Majesty the Queen aboard MS Queen Victoria (also a very staunch name)! Also many other royal elements throughout - strong British traditions! Wow! 🇬🇧

@Jonny_Smyth @JamieBrysonLLB Did you just say "the CNR will start respecting the PUL community" Where the actual fvck is that mentioned? People either do or don't respect each other eg: One is a reasonably decent human being = respect One is an absolute cvnt up the back = no respect. Got it?

There will be no going back to the days of nationalist supremacism whereby unionism are passive victims in a cultural war. Nationalism are getting a bit back now, and they don’t like it: 💥remember all your residents groups targeting parading; 💥 remember Drumcree; 💥 remember the Crumlin Road; 💥 remember the legacy ‘lawfare’, having a jamboree through the courts unchallenged for more than two decades; 💥 remember gleefully tearing down the Union flag from City Hall; 💥 remember masked contractors tearing down bonfires; 💥 remember the Union-subjugating Irish Sea border when cross community consent was trampled underfoot; 💥 remember the relentless siege against & demonisation of every vestige of unionist culture/tradition; 💥 remember the weaponisation of ‘equality’ to “break the [unionist] b***tards”; 💥 remember the destruction of the RUC and discriminatory recruitment to the PSNI; 💥 remember the aggressive imposition of Irish language with 15% of a street forcing it down the throat of the whole community. 🚨 We remember. We owe you absolutely nothing. You started a culture war, and now you have one. Learn to like it.

The Irish Language lobby have aggressively & divisively waged a war of cultural dominance. Why should any weapon in their armoury be publicly funded? They brought it all on themselves. irishnews.com/news/northern-…

To give you an idea as to how trustworthy Sinn Féin are to a united Ireland. My classmate, who is or at least was one of their Ógra heads in Louth and still campaigns for them, she said this yesterday in class; *paraphrased* "I feel as time goes on and we start welcoming in more and different types of people and the whole island gets more and more diverse, the whole northern thing won't really matter as much to anyone anymore because we'll all just be existing together on the island with lots of different types of people anyway so Irish identity won't mean the same as what it did back when the north became its own country...like, anyone can be Irish now anyway so we're like redefining the meaning and coming up with a new Irish identity anyway for the whole island." I need not say my own thoughts, why followers know well already.

Pleased to see this electrical box at Glenburn Road car park repaired by Virgin/O2 following my raising of it with them. No, it’s not owned by Openreach, hence why it didn’t get sorted when the local Alliance rep foolishly raised it with them!
