@admcollingwood No… no applause for an orange idiot who started a war, killed a bunch of people, doubled the price of oil, helped Russia, screwed up GCC countries, caused chaos across the world & then claimed a win for opening the SoH that wasn’t closed to begin with.

I think we should all applaud Donald Trump this morning. He accepted the Big L far earlier than I thought he would. This takes a big man. Most wouldn't have done it. Given he has accepted Iranian terms as a basis for negotiations, it seems possible that no agreement will be reached when the US media and political class get stuck into the implications of this. But 10 out of 10 to Trump for doing this before a land invasion and much greater economic pain (yet minus a million for getting into this trap to begin with.)

Question…why were/are we negotiating with Iran if their entire military has been completely destroyed? What is there to negotiate? I thought they have nothing left. How do they have any leverage whatsoever? None of it makes sense.

To comply with the ceasefire, any American tankers crossing the Strait of Hormuz, must pay $2 million in Yuan to Iran. The US is experiencing the mother of all humiliations in the eyes of the world.

When almost every other pundit, analyst and "expert" was bearish oil over the last year, I was calling for these all time high prices. One down, one to go.

Unbelievable how the White House is declaring a total victory when the ceasefire allows Iran to come out stronger than ever while Trump looks weak.

Never get your news from a foreigner that looks like Quasimodo. The facts: US/Israeli strikes since Feb 28 hammered Iran's navy, nuclear sites, leadership, and military. Iran's weak retaliation? Disrupting the Strait (20% of world oil). Trump delivered blunt deadlines: reopen it fully or face devastating strikes on power plants, bridges, and infrastructure — warning a "whole civilization" could be gone. Today, Trump hit pause with a two-week suspension of attacks — strictly conditioned on Iran's "COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING" of the Strait. Iran folded, accepted the framework, and confirmed safe passage. Oil prices plunged. That's not weakness. That's raw leverage: bleed them militarily, then force the chokepoint open without a forever war. The pause ends if Iran cheats — strikes resume instantly. Sanctions? Pure exaggeration. Only narrow, temporary waivers for ~140 million barrels of already-loaded Iranian oil at sea (to flood markets and crush price spikes) — not "lifting all." Iran's laughable 10-point wishlist (total US surrender, reparations, etc.) is just their fantasy starting bid. Talks kick off Friday in Islamabad; zero concessions locked in. Iran lost warships, bases, revenue, and leverage. Their "blockade" backfired spectacularly. Trump extracted the key demand after bloodying them. Labeling smart pressure + conditional ceasefire as "defeat" is pathetic cope and anti-US fantasy. Reality: America called the shots, Iran blinked first. That's how you win deals — not endless bombing.
Ian Miles Cheong@ianmiles

So Iran now owns the strait of Hormuz, and the US is lifting all sanctions on Iran. Total American defeat.

Trump’s messaging on Iran should only give you heartache if you think Iran is the real enemy. Iran is nothing more than a proxy for the bankers to keep us in forever wars. When Trump speaks of regime change, he’s talking about the power behind the proxy. Today is way bigger than people realize.

BREAKING — Be brutally honest: Do you support the US president using profane language to threaten Iran with hell, as Pres. Trump just did, telling Iran to open the “Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastard, or you’ll be living in hell”? and is it good to bomb power plants? Yes or no?

To be fair, China and Possibly Russia are trying out their latest weaponry through the Iran cover. The US probably didn’t even know they had this tech and are finding out in the battle field for the first time. The US is at war with Russia via Ukraine, and now at war with China via Iran.

Here is my proposal. Iran opens the Strait of Hormuz to all shipping. President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Secretary Hegseth resign. All US bases in the Middle East close forever. Iran agrees to abandon regional proxies. The US stops arms shipments to Israel. Iran agrees to not pursue nuclear weapons and allow verification. What do you say?
