@yongfook I wanted a cheap 4K monitor that will also be decent quality (refresh rate, USB-C, brightness). Did some research and bought one from KTC. Not well-known brand but they’re producing many white label monitors. So far no complaints really

How do people choose a monitor to buy? Every model has a name like 32GS60F-SX-81727827 and is completely indiscernible from the one next to it.

"Where should you live in Portugal?" Got understand this, we will use something called isochrones, a chart that shows an area filled by the times to any point one can travel from a location. Isochrones are actually much harder than I thought. Thanks X. Here's an attempt to synchronize prices per m2 and travel time across Portugal. you can add any point you want and see what you can reach from it (still don't have the other way around). Link in first comment 👇 Getting data for this was not easy. INE has data for house pricing with a delay of about 2 quarters. So values are for Dec 2025. Building isochrones during rush hour is not easy at all. Data is not publicly and legally available for rush hour. One can always crawl google, but that goes against their TOS. So I used an experiment: congestion factor that grows with local street density calibrated to real measured traffic (TomTom Traffic Index and the EU JRC accessibility dataset). In other words, one can get a general average rush hour effect for Lisbon, but not precise per street one. Will have this up for a few days, hope anyone finds it useful.

The only 2 places where I felt ambition like this are the US and China Nomad hubs like Bali and Thailand are nice but often people there get stuck coasting at $5K MRR because it's just cheaper to live there, so that puts kind of a natural limit on ambition, very quickly you already make "enough" SF/NYC are so ridiculously expensive to live, so you HAVE to make a lot of money, and the high cost of living is a natural filter that keeps only broke but super ambitious or already successful people (and of course nepo babies esp NYC) China is not so much expensive to live, but there's some natural cultural ambition to become #1 in everything that's very infectious

@levelsio @tiagopita Maybe with one exception - realtors - as the real estate market is very competitive here. But even then, there are many caveats, and the competition is actually hamstrung by some weird laws around exclusivity and non-competition, as I was told by one ex-realtor.

Funny you should mention Ali. We found this video on the same day as we caught Ryan's. The funny thing is we know they were drafting off our title because that number "613" was randomly chosen by my team because it's my birthday. @codetaur It gets oversaturated when zoomed out. Are you familiar with datashader? It's Python's lib but worth checking out. It also supports interactive rendering of large datasets (hundreds of millions to billions)

making my threejs / webgpu star renderer (planetarium?) more of a real thing. renders 44 million stars from the gaia star catalog at 120 fps. there's no LOD/culling. every star in frame is drawn. next is adding a nice API for agents to write "tours" that play automatically
