Prayer, centered as it is upon the recognition that power beyond this world determines our affairs, is central to true decolonization. For colonization is the imposition of the secular, the denial of any transcendent power, on all modes of being. Continue to work. But if we operate under the delusion that our efforts determine the affairs of this world, we perpetuate the underlying episteme of colonization. Sincere work must thus be joined with sincere prayer.
