@stevecarrera @cogmeyer Wish I knew about these a few years ago. Saves a lot of money if 1st 2 years done at CC, and kid wants independence away from home. So CC w/student housing is great.

@cogmeyer CCC professor here I can in fact confirm that some JCs do have dorms. Sierra college, Santa Rosa and Orange Coast College just to name a few. Not sure I believe the story above but some JCs do have dorms.

So my kid just finished a semester in the dorms at a CA junior college. His roommate is a previously homeless 18 year old that apparently got free dorm, free meal plan and even extra cash for checking the homeless box. He spent the cash on a gaming system. He dropped out the first month, but was allowed to stay in the dorm because... homeless. Today 5 of 6 suite mates got together to clean the dorm, to get their deposit back (and also to not be slobs). This guy sat in a chair watching, because taxoayers payed his dorm deposit. Anyway just a little report on CA efforts to house the homeless.

My Mother’s Day hit different this year… Everyone asks if it’s hard without Mark and Jacob. It is. But this year, the hardest part was opening this sweet handmade card from Violet. She made a big pink heart that says “Happy Mother’s Day”… and right in the middle, she wrote “Mark & Jacob.” And included Jacob’s favorite Bible verse. My heart broke. I felt like such a bad mom — have I talked about her brothers so much that she thinks the only way to make me happy is to include them? That this day couldn’t just be about her and me? I don’t know how to address this and it’s breaking my heart even more. They’re still part of our family and our daily life. But I never want her to feel like she has to carry my grief.

The jury found Josie Dikeman guilty of all charges on Friday afternoon for the death of her former boyfriend's son, 6-year-old Alexavier Pedrin. It took the jury about four and a half hours to come to this decision. Dikeman sat unemotional, her lawyer's hand on her back as the verdict was read. She now faces life in prison for the child’s death.

I have no issue calling a biological man a woman (except for physically competitive sports) once he has fully and completely physically become a woman with all surgeries but no taxpayer dollars should pay for it. That’s my reasonable compromise. But up until then? They are still male pretending.

@InformedMama209 @WildesMillar Several times I had to report/rescue an abused dog, through Animal Control; it took many, many follow-up phone calls. Keep reporting it. If you ever see the dog tied up alone, time to snag him/her. Cant believe he/she was returned to a known abuser. Outrageous!!!

@WildesMillar Rescues can’t help if they won’t give up the dog. There are numerous police reports, she was even arrested after reports of her throwing the dog against the wall. She got out, and the dog was given back to her.

Yesterday I was In Tracy visiting my mom. On my way I drove passed this woman who was dragging this little dog. She was pulling her off the ground by the leash and hanging her. I did a u-turn to ask her if I can buy the dog but she wasn’t coherent in her response until i eventually heard her say no and walk away. Later I went back to try and convince her to let me have the dog but I found a man passed out on a mattress in the middle of the sun with the dog tied to him. She was panting with no food, water or shade. Apparently this sad situation is a well known issue, reports have been made about her to Tracy PD but apparently nothing is done. I don’t get it. Cities come after animal owners if they aren’t vaccinated and licensed but allows this to continue. I wish I could take this dog. Been thinking about her all day
