I decided I want to learn C. I've used C++ in the past and for about a year I learned and really enjoyed writing rust. But now I gotta do some real C. As is my tradition, since I am learning a new language I will be writing a BF compiler. I want to learn the real way, not by just outsourcing my learning to an LLM. Does anyone have good recommendations on a solid book to read? Maybe some online resources that are intended for more than just beginner stuff? I have ADHD so the book can't be too hard to read but other than that I'm not picky. What do you guys recommend?

@tokenfox1 @0xgaut I should clarify. I meant I'm fearful of becoming fully reliant on them. I almost exclusively use models like k2.6, deepseek v4, glm 5.1, etc so I'm not overly worried about the pricing

@LewisCTech Ruby is one of the only popular language I have never spent even 5 minutes looking into. What makes it better than others like python?

Rust has somehow become my default "I need to quickly code something" programming language. What I would have reached for ruby for in bygone days of yore.

@LewisCTech Wow that's interesting. I find rust really enjoyable to write but for anything quick I still always turn to python, the do anything quickly with little effort language

@LibertyCappy I love some good deer or elk meat. I've never been the biggest hunter but I used to go with my dad a bit growing up. Bear is good too! Wild game aside, I love beef. Pretty much doesn't matter what cut or how it's prepped, beef is good

I've been saying, the solution to the housing crisis is right in front of us but neither Democrats or republicans will ever consider it because it means lowering the value of their homes that they were assured would be an investment It is very funky that the US treats homes this way and expects their value to go up over time, when in reality, old homes do depreciate in quality and need repairs, replacements, renovations, etc. But as part of a push to get Americans in homes last century, we were promised that houses are an investment

@femgirled This was my very first thought as well. Just imagine the time I would now have to pursue my interests outside of work. That's the easiest what like 90k a year ever, I'd be more than happy to become nocturnal

@AP4Liberty They shouldn't necessarily be mutually exclusive. At least until Trump started attacking Massie simply because Massie was voting for our liberties and not just Trump's agendas

So is it the position of Massie's supporters that you cannot support both President Trump and Thomas Massie?

@justinmk Recent improvements with nvim terminals or something? I still use zellij but if I could switch to just neovim I'd switch in a heartbeat. They feel too clunky to me even with plugins

@stupidtechtakes Yeah the others are not immune. But also... The JS/TS ecosystem sucks. It is all just bandaids and patchwork. But if you work with frontend it sucks even more to use just about anything else

There’s nobody in Congress more faithful to the Constitution than @MassieforKY. He stands against wasteful spending, runaway debt, and government overreach no matter which party is pushing it. Kentucky would be making a mistake by letting him go. @realDailyWire
