@EastMidRailway not only am I on my 13th consecutively delayed train, but your conductor is extremely rude, just adding to the annoyance. When will you start giving customer’s value for money?

@sirdanielmeyer We do have ticket acceptance in place with @TPExpressTrains between Manchester and Sheffield, meaning you would be more than okay to travel on their trains. There is a 16:13 departure, and a 16:48 departure to Sheffield. You would be required to change trains at Sheffield. ^GE

@EastMidRailway And I will be able to board both the TPE service and the following EMR service fine? Despite having an advance ticket? And the website saying Man Picc to Sheffield is now operating as normal?

@sirdanielmeyer Hello Daniel, I am sorry to hear this. You can travel on the 16:13 or 17:13 and change at Sheffield for Chesterfield. Your ticket will automatically be valid on TransPennine today. ^KP

@TPEassist Hi. The 1643 EMR service from Man Picc has been cancelled due to the disruption - I have an advanced ticket. I have been told it is valid on both the 16:13 and 17:13 to Sheffield with TPE, is this correct?

@EastMidRailway Currently on 1643 Man Pic to Chesterfield. It’s been delayed the last nine times I’ve used it.

@EastMidRailway how many delayed trains does it take for you to change the train time?

@ianvisits No, I didn’t say I would know? I meant how would the system know? So from 11.59 the night before I am no longer allowed to refund. If my train at 3pm is then delayed so I can no longer travel, what then?

@sirdanielmeyer I give up - you're not expected to know if the train is cancelled - it's only if YOU cancel. FFS, it's bloody simple.

So now it’ll be even harder to get money back from the con-artists when they cancel the services last minute, delay the services last minute, make you stand for a 90 minute journey due to overbooking and generally treat you like shit. An absolute racket. Thanks @nationalrailenq👍

@ianvisits Not wrong. How will it know at 11.59pm that there will be a cancellation the following day? If I decide not to travel because there has been a significant delay, for example, then it will be affected.

@sirdanielmeyer Wrong. As the article clearly explained, the change only applies if YOU decide not to travel, not if the train company decides not to let you travel.

@ianvisits Because, as I’ve said, if the ticket was unused and cancelled/delayed beyond use on the day, I could just claim a refund. Now this is not possible.

@sirdanielmeyer But what has any of that got to do with refunds for unused tickets?

@ianvisits …an anti-customer labyrinth in order to claim back money that should automatically be returned anyway. There’s no care at any stage of the customer journey in rail travel. It’s disgusting. 2/2

@ianvisits As I’ve said - they make you jump through hoops for delay repay for cancellation or delays. If I can’t travel because of their cancellation or delay (which tend to happen on their day), I want a refund, which previously I could just request. However, now I have to complete…1/2

@ianvisits Yes, in theory, but of course it will be affected. Every provider makes you jump through hoops for delay repay or to get your money back when they cancel. This will make it harder still.

I hate @TNLUK. Your new app just nearly gave me a heart attack. I sat there for a good 5 minutes thinking I’d won the £180m jackpot before realising I was looking at the results and not my ticket. I fear my heart rate may never recover. Well, at least I know how it feels to win.

So poor from @CrossCountryUK. This Train from Sheffield to Bristol oversold and unsafe. No seats. People packed in standing in aisles, toilets and vestibules in between carriages. It cannot be safe to travel like this. Plus the tannoy is inaudible. Stood from Sheffield to Birmingham in packed carriage by broken toilet. 1 working toilet for 3 carriages. No staff on show. One passenger nearly passed out and had to get off. Train now going in reverse back to Brum having been stationary 15 mins in a tunnel. No one has any idea what’s going on because we can’t hear announcements. This train is unsafe.

@mrwilldouglas @CrossCountryUK Hi, trains aren’t oversold. Many passengers travel on flexible tickets which allow them to board any train, this makes crowding difficult to predict and control. Generally, once reservations reach 70% full, Advance tickets (for a specific time train) are no longer sold

@inquisitor111 @browncharley23 @jeff_106 @mrwilldouglas @CrossCountryUK But you’re claiming other countries operate walk on railways, yet other countries don’t seem to have the problems we have with the rail network. So which is it? It’s disgusting what they get away with. The ticketing is their issue - I should be able to sit on a train.
