Why has Vercel become the default hosting platform for vibe coders? There are plenty of alternatives. What made Vercel win?

Sorry for hijacking this .. Just my 2 cents. I think people have made it really ceremonial .. It makes simple work feel heavy.. A small bug becomes create ticket -> assign epic -> fill whatever -> assign points -> set priority -> move status -> link PR -> update sprint -> close subtask .. A simple problem now gives me more headache. Just sharing 🤣

@kaz @InderosD Please share a list, I'll look into it! I'd also say: Atlassian's Design bench is now surprisingly deep. Recently hired Ian Spalter (Head of Design @ Instagram) to oversee Jira, his boss Charlie Sutton is a Top 10 designer i've worked w, David Hoang too x.com/charliedesigne…
Charlie @ Atlassian@charliedesigned

I know superlative-maxxing is real thing, but - I AM thrilled to welcome @ianspalter as Atlassian's new SVP and Head of Design for Teamwork Collection. Even if you're not a designer, you have probably felt Ian’s influence on modern software experiences. He led design at Instagram through much of its meteoric rise, later running the Instagram Japan business. Not to mention his stellar contributions at YouTube, Foursquare, and R/GA. Ian brings an exacting bar for simplicity and craft, paired with a wonderfully calm presence. I've always found that leaders with that balance are exceedingly rare. And the people who’ve worked with Ian always talk about the environment that he creates - one where the team can be clear-eyed, ambitious, with a sense of being deeply supported. Teamwork Collection is something that we believe can benefit everyone who uses a computer at work - so they can do their best work. This means continuously refining the experience, so it handles the messiness of real work, and helps creative a sense of collective flow in the team. I honestly could not think of anyone better than Ian to help realise that ambition. Stoked to be working with this awesome human 🤙

@joshm @InderosD Thanks for the kind words! I'll see what I can come up with...don't have a list handy, but will start one. (I will say, Jira + Claude code has been a lifesaver, because whenever I encounter friction in the Jira UI, I just ask Claude to do it for me instead)

A few years ago: 0 followers. Restaurant job. Dreaming about tech. Then: I quit the bar. Started building in public. Today: After months of freelancing, rejections, and uncertainty, I found my first office job. 6,700 people followed the journey. Some gave advice. Some gave hope. Some just stayed. Thank you 🙏 X changed my life more than I expected.

@DanielSmidstrup In the future maybe.. but there's more to a company than just tech. You still need marketing, HR, finance etc.. That will take some time to automate imo

@snowmaker Building is the easy part, getting clients thereafter is something ai can help but only to a small extent. Ultimately its the human connections

We've always told startups to launch early, but I realized there's a powerful new reason to. Before you launch, the speed you can build is now mainly limited by your imagination in what you tell AI. After you launch, the AI can watch your users and make improvements on its own.
