As we celebrate 250 years of American liberty, we honor those who have faithfully and diligently defended our nation from the Revolutionary War to conflicts overseas. On the opening day of the 2026 legislative session, it was an honor to recognize Darin Hoover, a Gold Star father, whose son, Staff Sergeant Taylor Hoover, made the ultimate sacrifice. Utah leads with world-class education, groundbreaking research and a culture that invests in people. Our universities empower the next generation of innovators and critical thinkers, the problem-solvers of tomorrow. From energy innovation to missile defense, from medical research to AI and space exploration, Utah is shaping the future. Together, we are creating a state that leads in opportunity, prosperity and service. As we celebrate 250 years of freedom, during the session we will continue the unfinished work of building a brighter future for Utah, for America and for the world.

Over the past decade, Utah and Peru have conducted $7.6 billion in trade, and that connection is only growing. Lawmakers, along with representatives from WTC Utah, the Governor’s Office and Utah businesses, join Delta's inaugural nonstop flight from Salt Lake City to Lima. This marks Utah’s first direct route to South America!  During the visit, they’ll meet with Peruvian business leaders to strengthen trade, support Utah companies and expand cultural and economic ties. More opportunities for Utah are taking off!

An Honour to Engage with India’s Leadership in Commerce & Industry It was an honor to meet the Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles, Shri Piyush Goyal, as part of the US-India Business Connect 2025 delegation.

Exciting momentum in bilateral trade between India and Utah as businesses on both sides look to strengthen economic ties. @realDonaldTrump and @narendramodi signed the Mission 500 agreement, pledging $500 billion in increased trade between the U.S. and India by 2030.

Cette audience qui fait suite à ma visite à Salt Lake City en mai 2024 nous a permis d’échanger de façon approfondie sur des questions d’intérêt commun, notamment pour encourager la coopération entre l’État de Utah et l’Afrique. ———————————- I was delighted to receive, on September 23, Mr. Jabez Stuart Adams, President of the Utah State Senate, accompanied by Mr. Jonathan Freeman, President of World Trade Center Utah, and Mr. Miles Hansen, President of the Stirling Foundation. This audience, following my visit to Salt Lake City in May 2024, allowed us to have an in-depth exchange on matters of common interest, particularly ways to encourage cooperation between the State of Utah and Africa.

President Zelensky and the Ukrainian people have stood admirably against an unprovoked invasion. I want an end to this war just as much as President Trump does, but it must end on terms that bring lasting stability and peace. That means ensuring Vladimir Putin does not walk away with a victory. Ukraine is a sovereign nation defending itself against aggression. That is the reality. The United States should always pursue strategies that promote freedom and security, and I am eager to see where President Trump’s efforts lead. I have learned not to speculate on his negotiating tactics, but I do know that any long-term peace must come from strength, not concession.
