@The_HRforges @lumbogg COD has multiplayer for replayability. People played COD4 every single day for like 4 years.
If you talk about (almost) any other significant new-age campaign, it’s either 20 hours of playthrough or the ability to change the way you play it the next time.

There is very little value in rigidly defining games. It deeply connected with a lot of the people who interacted with it. That’s a rare and beautiful thing. You look silly whining about it.

@SterlingTheDev As with all other words nowadays, “indie” has lost all meaning. It used to mean self-funded and self-released - independent from any company.
Now I feel like people just use indie as a style of art that looks “small”. Music and film have the same issue.

I hate to my negative about content here but this is an actual industry plant. It’s ok to like this sort of game, but how it’s presenting itself hurts actual indie games.
- real licensed music
- massive array of custom assets and cutscenes, fully voiced too
- insanely pricey press kits sent out to small and big CCs
- presents itself as “indie”.
This is not “indie”. This is a refined product that was made for millions. Most likely a medium sized team of 12-30 full time for years. This kind of low hanging fruit stealing + indie labeling hurts actual small dedicated teams of real game devs. There will be actual indie devs that miss out on awards this season because of this extremely well funded AA title masquerading as an indie.

Mixtape is a truly special game, like a playable High Fidelity or maybe a 90s John Hughes movie. Still thinking about it days later.
Also you can blow things up by flipping them off -Go play it! (It’s on Game Pass, too)

Discord's "are you human" captcha went from "a human can solve it immediately" to "sit down and do some work for it."
